Hamden, Conn. – Women's rugby freshman Natalie Kosko (Sebastian, Fla.) propelled the Bobcats to their eighth-straight victory with three tries as Quinnipiac trumped West Chester, 32-12. With the victory, Quinnipiac remains undefeated as they improve to 8-0 and 6-0 in Tri-State Conference play, while West Chester suffers their first loss of the year to drop to 2-1-1.

In the first half, the Bobcats made an impressive run within the first five minutes of play, which resulted in Kosko's ninth try of the season, allowing Quinnipiac to jump to an early 5-0 lead. West Chester's senior Jackie Sacco countered later in the half for her fifth try of the season for the Golden Rams to even the score at 5-5. Sacco's try was the first points scored by an opposing team on Quinnipiac's home turf.

Sophomore Shannon Durkin (Oakland, Calif.) was able to put the Bobcats back on top, 10-5, off a pass from Kosko. Kosko then added to the lead with her second try of the game, granting the Bobcats a 15-5 lead at the break.

Only three minutes into the second half, WCU leading-scorer Cheryl Johnson cut its deficit in half after tacking on five more points. Senior fullback  Ariel Johnston added a successful conversion to cut into the Bobcats' lead, 15-12.

Freshman scrum, Devon Vieira (Kent, Wash.) joined the attack for the Bobcats to give the Bobcats more breathing room.  Durkin and Kosko provided some insurance, as Quinnipiac snatched their eighth win of the season.

The Bobcats continue their season against Tri-State Conference opponent University at Albany on Sunday, October 28 in upstate New York.  The Great Danes currently rank second behind the Bobcats in the Tri-State Conference and are 4-0-1 on the year.  The Bobcats will then return home for Sunday, November 4, marking Senior Day for ten of the team's players against Rutgers University at 1 p.m. on the QU Rugby Field in Hamden, Conn.
