QU Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey Team Up for Community Service Event With Hamden Family University
The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse and field hockey teams both spent time with the Hamden Youth Group on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Hamden Fall Food Truck Festival. Both squads sent a bevy of players to the local event held at the Hamden Town Center Park as the student-athletes and staff members played games with the children of the Hamden Youth Group and kept the group well entertained throughout the afternoon.

Women's Lacrosse Names Vicki Kuhn Captain for 2014-15 Season
Quinnipiac women's lacrosse head coach Danie Caro and her staff has announced that senior defender Vicki Kuhn (East Hampstead, N.H.) has been named the team captain for the 2014-15 season. In addition, coach Caro has also named seniors Briana Fountain (Marshfield, Mass.) and Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, N.Y.) as the Bobcats' assistant captains for next season.

Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Academic Squad Honors
The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team was honored for a ninth consecutive year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) and recognized with 2014 Academic Squad honors. Quinnipiac was one of 84 schools honored nationwide after posting a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

Quinnipiac Athletics' 2013-14 Student-Athletes Complete Top Academic Year In Program History
Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald has announced all-time highs in several academic areas for the 2013-14 season. Quinnipiac’s 414 student-athletes posted a program best 3.293 cumulative grade-point-average, while all but one of Quinnipiac’s 21 varsity teams posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team announced its 2014 team awards in a ceremony on May 2. Awards for outstanding attack and defensive player were handed out along with honors for most improved player and the Becca Main Ultimate Bobcat Award. The team’s Most Valuable Player was recognized at the Quinnipiac University Athletics and Recreation Awards event on May 4 at the TB Bank Sports Center.

Quinnipiac juniors Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Vicki Kuhn (East Hempstead, N.H.) were named to the All-MAAC First Team while senior Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) was named to the All-Rookie team as announced today by the league office. The All-MAAC first team, second team, and All-Rookie teams were selected by a vote of the league coaches.

The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team finished the season with a 15-11 loss to the Niagara Purple Eagles on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Bobcats to 2-6 in their first year in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference while the win improves Niagara to 3-5 in conference play.

Women's Lacrosse Raises $9,227 For Friends Of Jaclyn Foundation
Over the last few weeks the women’s lacrosse program has raised money for the Friends Of Jaclyn Foundation. Starting from March 27 the program set a goal to raise $5,000 for the foundation. To date the team has nearly doubled their goal by raising $9,227.

Women's Lacrosse Falls To Marist In Overtime Thriller, 15-13
The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team made the final game at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Field this season exciting as they battled the No. 1 team in the MAAC, the Marist Red Foxes, in an overtime classic. Marist would get the upper hand as they outscored Quinnipiac in two overtime periods 3-1 and captured their seventh straight victory, 15-13. Marist moves 9-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play while the Bobcats fall to 2-3 in conference play.

Beyond The Field: Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse Senior Allison Boudreau
Allison Boudreau, a member of Quinnipiac’s women’s lacrosse team, took nine days out of her schedule in February to help those in need. The senior nursing major from Canton, Mass., was able to complete this journey through an organization known as “Missions of Miracles”, a volunteer organization that specifically works to help the people of El Salvador.

The students are studying local Native American tribes and have learned that the sport of lacrosse was originally played by many tribes throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.

Six different players scored for the Bobcats as the offense matched their season high of 15 goals. Quinnipiac moves to 2-2 in MAAC play while Iona falls to 0-4 in conference play.

Despite filling the box score with a season-high of 15 goals on Sunday afternoon, the Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team fell short to Canisius, 23-15, in MAAC action at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field. The Bobcats featured 10 different players in the scoring column, five of which who scored twice, in the team's second conference loss of the season.

The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team scored six straight second half goals to tie the game against Monmouth with just under eight minutes remaining, but a Hawks goal with just over six minutes remaining was the difference on Wednesday afternoon in West Long Branch. With the win Monmouth moves to 2-0 in MAAC play while the Bobcats fall to 1-1 in conference play.

Devin Kelly's Goal With Two Minutes Remaining Pushes Women's Lacrosse Past Manhattan, 12-11
Freshman Devin Kelly (Miller Place, N.Y.) scored the game winning goal with two minutes remaining to propel the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team to its first victory of the season and their first win as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Bobcats overcame a 10-6 second half deficit and scored two goals in the last five minutes as they defeated the Manhattan Jaspers, 12-11, at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Field in Hamden. With the victory Quinnipiac moves to 1-0 in conference play while Manhattan falls to 0-1 in the MAAC and 2-7 overall.

Women's Lacrosse Completes Six-Goal Comeback But Falls To Binghamton In Final Seconds, 9-8
The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team scored seven straight goals to take an 8-7 lead over Binghamton with two minutes remaining in the game, but fell 9-8 after Binghamton's Brianne Arthur scored her 28th and 29th goals of the season. Arthur scored off a free position with six seconds remaining to give the Bearcats a program best sixth win of the season. Quinnipiac wraps up non-conference play and will return home to face Manhattan on Saturday at 1 pm.

Women's Lacrosse Teams With Friends of Jaclyn Foundation To "Adopt" Catherine Rose
HAMDEN, Conn – The Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse team held an "adoption ceremony" on Tuesday to welcome Catherine (Cat) Rose to the program. Cat has a Grade 4 Glioblastoma, an extremely rare brain tumor, and connected with the Bobcat family through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FoJ). FoJ was founded in 2005 by Denis and Lynda Murphy to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families by pairing them with college and high school athletic teams after their daughter Jaclyn was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Head coach Danie Caro has announced the Quinnipiac University Women's Lacrosse team's final fundraising total for their "Stick It To Cancer" event held on the weekend of April 5-7, 2013. The Bobcats raised $6,680.50 through the CT Coaches vs. Cancer program. All donations directly benefited the American Cancer Society.

Senior Lianne Toomey (Hicksville, NY) collected the 100th goal of her career on Sunday afternoon as the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team defeated the Saint Francis University Red Flash, 20-8, on Senior Day. Despite the win, the Bobcats playoff chances were dashed as Bryant earned the No. 3 seed with a win over Mount St. Mary’s who landed the No. 4 and final playoff spot. The Bobcats finish the 2013 season at 7-9 with a 5-4 mark in NEC action. The loss for the Red Flash drops them to 4-13 overall and 1-8 against NEC opponents.

Each and every member of the Quinnipiac University Women’s Lacrosse team has been affected by cancer in some way. The Bobcats have organized a “Stick it to Cancer Weekend” and each player will be dedicating their play this weekend to a special person that has been affected by cancer.

Everything was clicking for the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team through the first 25 minutes but the Pioneers came storming back from a 5-1 deficit to eventually come away with a 10-8 victory from the QU Lacrosse Turf Complex on Friday afternoon. The Bobcats were paced by senior Sarah Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) who pumped in three goals for her second career hat trick and first since March 21, 2010. The Bobcats drop their Northeast Conference opener for the first time since 2008 as they fall to 2-6 (0-1 NEC) while Sacred Heart picks up their first victory of the season and improve to 1-5 (1-0 NEC).

The Quinnipiac University Women’s Lacrosse team visited third graders at Helen Street School on Friday to complete a winter reading project. Former Bobcat Laura Iannotti ’11 teaches at Helen Street and worked with the coaching staff to coordinate the visit. “Anytime we can get to work with children, we always have fun,” said head coach Danie Caro. “It’s an amazing experience for our student-athletes to interact with young children in a classroom environment. Junior Sarah Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) became the program’s all-time single season assists leader on Thursday afternoon during the team’s 14-4 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.), dishing out a game-high seven assists to give her an incredible 48 helpers in just 10 games played. Allen breaks Katie Latonick’s single season assist total of 44 (set in both 2009 and 2010), and is currently the NCAA leader with 4.80 assists per game. Women's Lacrosse Volunteers At Helen Street School
Over the past few weeks, members of the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team have volunteered their services at the Helen Street School in Hamden, assisting its students in their preparation for the Connecticut Mastery Tests (CMT’s). The afterschool program, initiated by former Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse player Laura Iannotti ’11, primarily focused on providing the students with an opportunity to partake in practice reading assessments for the CMT’s.

Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse head coach Danie Caro has been honored with this year’s Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association’s (IWLCA) President’s Cup Award, as announced by the organization on Thursday, Nov. 17. The President’s Cup is awarded yearly to the individual who demonstrates the drive and determination towards the development, promotion, and enhancement of intercollegiate women’s lacrosse. In addition to the President’s Cup Award, Caro also received recognition at this year’s banquet for earning her 100th career victory during the 2011 season.

Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse head coach Danie Caro has announced that seniors Devon Gibney (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) will serve as captains for the 2011-12 season. Kelly, who is the sole representative of the Northeast Conference in the weekend's upcoming game, is one of five defenders that will play for the North Squad in the North versus South matchup.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team fell to Navy, 20-5, in the program's first-ever NCAA Play-In Game on Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Bobcats finish arguably their most successful season in program-history with a 13-5 overall record after finishing the Northeast Conference regular season in first place with an 8-1 record.
