QU Women’s Lacrosse Drops 2015 Season Finale to Fairfield, 18-3
The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team fell to intrastate foe Fairfield, 18-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field Complex in Hamden. Quinnipiac finishes the 2015 season at 2-14 overall and 1-7 in MAAC play while the Stags will head into the MAAC Tournament with the No. 2 overall seed and 12-4 record overall and 7-1 in league action.

The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team finishes its 2015 season with a home game against intrastate conference foe Fairfield on Wednesday, April 22. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m. in the final game for the Bobcats’ five-member senior class.

QU Women's Lacrosse Visits Conte West Hills Magnet School in New Haven
Several members of the Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse team visited Conte West Hills Magnet School in New Haven on Monday, April 20, to teach fourth graders about the sport of lacrosse. The students are studying local Native American tribes and have learned that the sport of lacrosse was originally played by many tribes throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.

QU Women's Lacrosse Falls to Siena, 14-9, on Senior Day
The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team built a four-goal lead in the first half but couldn’t hold on as Siena surged past the Bobcats, 14-9, from the QU Lacrosse Turf Field on Saturday afternoon. Quinnipiac drops to 2-13 (1-6 MAAC) on the season, falling outside of playoff contention, while the Saints improve to 9-7 (4-3 MAAC) and are now guaranteed of a spot in the upcoming MAAC Tournament.

QU Women's Lacrosse Spends Time With Senior Citizens at Atria Larson Place in Hamden
Members of the women’s lacrosse team visited Atria Larson Place in Hamden on Friday afternoon to interact with residents of the senior living community. The visit was coordinated by juniors Kathleen De Vito, a gerontology major, and Aileen Carey, a sociology major, as part of the team’s Positive Play efforts.

QU Women's Lacrosse Senior Day Slated for Saturday Against Siena at 3:15 PM
Everything is on the line for the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team (2-12, 1-5 MAAC) as the Bobcats are in need of a home win on Saturday against the Siena Saints (8-7, 3-3 MAAC) in order to keep their hopes of a berth in the 2015 MAAC Tournament alive. The Bobcats look to defeat a Siena squad that currently sits in fourth place in the MAAC standings and who’re fresh off a huge win on Wednesday over rival Marist. Senior Day for the Bobcats is also slated for this Saturday as a group of five seniors will all be honored prior to the start of play. First draw in the crucial MAAC contest is set for 3:15 p.m. on Saturday from the QU Lacrosse Turf Field.

QU Women's Lacrosse Falls at Home to Niagara, 16-11, in Coaches vs. Cancer Game
The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team dropped a home MAAC contest to the Niagara Purple Eagles, 16-11, on Saturday afternoon from the QU Lacrosse Turf Field. Also of significance on Saturday was the Bobcats' home game was held in support of the American Cancer Society through the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative. Quinnipiac drops to 1-5 in MAAC play with the loss while Niagara moves to 2-3 in conference.

QU Women's Lacrosse To Host Coaches vs. Cancer Game on Saturday Against Niagara at 3 PM
Two evenly matched teams will take to the QU Lacrosse Turf Field on Saturday, April 11 when the Quinnipiac University women’s lacrosse team (2-11, 1-4 MAAC) hosts Niagara University (4-9, 1-3 MAAC). Quinnipiac is also hosting the game as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative to benefit the American Cancer Society. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m. from the Mount Carmel Campus.

The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team was defeated by Iona College, 16-7, from Mazzella Field in New Rochelle, New York. The loss in the Bobcats’ 2015 MAAC road finale drops Quinnipiac to 1-4 in conference play while Iona picks up their first win in conference, moving to 1-4.

As the season continues to dwindle away, each MAAC game takes greater significance and this Wednesday’s contest is no different as the Bobcats travel down to face Iona at Mazzella Field. Quinnipiac (1-3 MAAC) is coming off their first conference win of the 2015 season but the good times need to continue if the Bobcats hope to earn a berth in the MAAC Tournament as the Gaels (0-4 MAAC) are in dire need of a victory in hopes of advancing to the postseason. Ochwat and Babstock Dominate Offensively as QU Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Manhattan, 13-11, For First MAAC Win of 2015
Set against an industrial backdrop in the heart of the Bronx, the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team needed every ounce of their workman’s' effort to get past Manhattan, 13-11, on Saturday afternoon from Gaelic Park. Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, New York) and Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) were all over the field as the duo combined for 12 points and eight goals to lead guide the Bobcats to their first MAAC win of the season.

Something has to give on Saturday as the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team heads down to Gaelic Park to take on the Manhattan College Jaspers at 11:00 a.m. Both sides head into their fourth MAAC game still in search of an elusive first victory in conference play. With only five conference games remaining for each side, every MAAC matchup from this point forwards takes on an extra importance.

Kyra Ochwat Becomes QU Women's Lacrosse All-Time Leading Scorer in 11-10 Double Overtime Loss to Monmouth
History was made on the QU Lacrosse Turf Field on Wednesday but unfortunately the record-breaking moment wasn't enough to push Quinnipiac past Monmouth as the Bobcats were defeated by the Hawks, 11-10, in double overtime. Quinnipiac's offensive star senior Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, New York) became the all-time leading scorer in Quinnipiac women's lacrosse history with 195 career points, passing Sarah Allen '13 (194) for first place on the all-time list.

The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team returns home for the first time since March 6 with a Wednesday showdown against Monmouth from the QU Lacrosse Turf Field. After a six-game road swing, the Bobcats are eager to return home and defend the home turf in what will also be the 2015 MAAC home opener for Quinnipiac. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m.

The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team heads up to Poughkeepsie on Saturday as MAAC play is set to begin with a game against the defending regular season conference champions Marist. This signals the resumption of conference play for the Bobcats after concluding the 2015 non-conference slate on Wednesday at CCSU. The road game is the sixth straight away from home for Quinnipiac. First draw is set for 1:00 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.

Despite leading for most of the game, the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse game couldn’t close out the win as Central Connecticut State dispatched the Bobcats, 13-9, on Wednesday from Arute Field. The 2015 non-conference finale for Quinnipiac moves the Bobcats to 1-8 on the year while the Blue Devils improve to 3-6.

The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team heads upstate for a weekday non-conference game against former conference rival Central Connecticut State. Less than 45 minutes separates these two Connecticut schools as the two enjoyed a healthy back-and-forth competition dating back to the first seasons in program history. First draw is set for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday from Arute Field in New Britain.

The 2015 MAAC season is underway for the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team, as the Bobcats traveled up to the four-time defending MAAC Champions Canisius on Saturday afternoon. Despite a goal and two assists from Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Quinnipiac suffered a 17-7 loss to the MAAC power in the conference-opener for both teams.

A testament to its commitment to community service, the Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team took a trip to Helen Street School on Friday afternoon to do arts and crafts and participate in a reading activity with the students. The Bobcats visited the classrooms of Quinnipiac alums Lexi DeStefano ‘11, Kristen Wiggins ‘08 and Brooke Tunny-Farley ‘11, who all teach at the local Hamden school.

Vermont defeated Quinnipiac, 15-7, in the 12th all-time meeting between these two regional foes. Quinnipiac drops to 0-6 on the year while Vermont climbs back over .500 at 4-3.

Three Bobcats registered at least three points but the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team was defeated by in-state rival UConn, 18-8, on Wednesday afternoon from the QU Lacrosse Turf Field. Junior Kathleen DeVito (Glastonbury, Connecticut) tallied her second straight hat trick while Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, New York) finished with four points, prolonging her streak to 13 straight games with at least two points.

The Quinnipiac University women’s lacrosse team was tabbed fifth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll, announced by the league office on Thursday, January 29, 2015. The Bobcats return 20 student-athletes from last year’s squad that includes wide array of talent, each with the same goal in mind of winning the 2015 MAAC Championship.

The Quinnipiac University women’s lacrosse team visited elementary-aged students at Helen Street School on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 and joined in their Thanksgiving-themed activities for the day. The Bobcats visited the classrooms of Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse alums Laura Iannotti ’11 and Lexi DeStefano ’11, who both team at the local school in Hamden.

QU Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey Team Up for Community Service Event With Hamden Family University
The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse and field hockey teams both spent time with the Hamden Youth Group on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Hamden Fall Food Truck Festival. Both squads sent a bevy of players to the local event held at the Hamden Town Center Park as the student-athletes and staff members played games with the children of the Hamden Youth Group and kept the group well entertained throughout the afternoon.

Women's Lacrosse Names Vicki Kuhn Captain for 2014-15 Season
Quinnipiac women's lacrosse head coach Danie Caro and her staff has announced that senior defender Vicki Kuhn (East Hampstead, N.H.) has been named the team captain for the 2014-15 season. In addition, coach Caro has also named seniors Briana Fountain (Marshfield, Mass.) and Kyra Ochwat (Farmingdale, N.Y.) as the Bobcats' assistant captains for next season.
