Women's Lacrosse Kaitlyn Kelly, Lauren Matuszczak And Stephanie Tuorto Named To IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse players Kaitlyn Kelly, Lauren Matuszczak and Stephanie Tuorto were each named to their second consecutive Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll squad for the 2010-11 scholastic year. In order to qualify for a spot on the team, players must be at least a junior with a GPA of at least 3.5.
“I think that Kaitlyn, Lauren, and Steph were three of the strongest students we’ve ever had. They set a great example for their teammates to follow and were excellent leaders for our program,” head coach Danie Caro said. “I am quite pleased that they have received this honor for the second time in their careers, and I am very proud of all they accomplished. They have left some large shoes for their younger classmates to fill.”
As a team, the Bobcats held a 3.12 GPA for the 2010-11 academic year.
Last season, Quinnipiac placed a program-high seven players on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll team.
