Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse Visits Local Elementary School
HAMDEN,
Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team visited the
Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School (WIMS), where the Bobcats
read with Mrs. Denise Pappa's second grade class on Thursday, March
17.
"I think it's very important that our student-athletes give back to
the community," said Quinnipiac Head Coach Danie
Caro. "It really makes them appreciate the opportunities they
have been given, and fosters their desire to make a difference in
someone else's life."
Coach Caro, Assistant Coach Brittany
Hauser and the following members of the women's lacrosse
team attended the elementary school: Lexi
DeStefano, Kaitlyn
Kelly, Lauren
Matuszczak, Laura
Iannotti, Christine
Sinnigen, Noelle
Martello, Marissa
Caroleo, Kim
Davis, Devon
Gibney, Emily
Mason, Chelsea
Guerrera, and Kelsey
Maroney.
"It's really fun to visit schools and read with the children," said
senior Lauren
Matuszczak. "We learn as much from them as they do from us.
They really remind us that learning can be exciting!"
The Bobcats begin Northeast Conference play when they visit Central
Connecticut State on Sunday, March 20 at 1 p.m. The game will be
held at the Arute Field in New Britain, Conn.
