About Vermont
Vermont is coming
off its second straight victory of the season, defeating Denver
10-6 on Wednesday, Mar. 9. The Catamounts were led by freshman
Sydney Mas, who scored three goals and two assists in the contest.
Junior Samantha Stern and freshman Marcie Marino each netted two
goals, while Laura Barber made seven saves in net. Mas (13 points)
and Stern (10 points) rank first and second on the team in overall
points, while sophomore Lauren Johnson (eight goals), senior Megan
MacDonald (six goals, two assists), and junior Adison Rounds (three
goals, five assists) are tied in third with eight points. Barber
has compiled a .364 and a 13.47 goals against average on the
season.

Catamounts
Sunday's game will
be the seventh time the two sides face each other, with Vermont
holding a 4-2 all-time series lead. In their last meeting on March
5, 2006, the Catamounts defeated the Bobcats 10-8. Danielle Mormile
netted a team-high three goals in the contest, while Tiffany Manzi
and Ashely Valentine each enjoyed multi-point affairs. Despite
outscoring the Catamounts 7-2 in the second half, the comeback fell
short for the Bobcats who lost their first game of the season.
Ashley Thompson turned away 17 shots for Quinnipiac in the
loss.

defeated by Brown, 16-11, on Tuesday, Mar. 8. The Bobcats were led
by senior Lauren
Matuszczak (East Longmeadow, Mass.), who collected five points
(three goals, two assists), and grabbed one draw control and ground
ball in the game. Junior Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.)
contributed three goals and three ground balls on the afternoon,
while and senior Laura
Iannotti (Rocky Point, N.Y.) picked up two goals and one draw

Davis (Darien, Conn.) led the Bobcats defensively, matching
Caroleo's team-high three ground balls and causing a team-high two

Matuszczak found
her groove offensively on Tuesday, Mar. 8 against Brown. The senior
scored a team-high five points, tallying three goals and two
assists on the afternoon. On the season overall, Matuszczak ranks
tied for second in goals (six), points (nine), draw controls (five)
and caused turnovers (three).

Junior attacker Marissa
Caroleo has gotten off to quite a start this season for the
Bobcats, leading the squad in both goals (11) and ground balls
(nine). She has consistently collected three ground balls a game,
and has tallied three points or more in Quinnipiac's first three
games.

midfielder Chelsea
Guerrera (Wantagh, N.Y.) played one her most aggressive games
of the season on Tuesday, Mar. 8 against Brown. Guerrera led the
team with four draw controls, while also earning her first assist
of the season. Guerrera, who is tied for first on the team with
eight draw controls, ranks third on the squad with four ground
balls.

Freshmen
midfielders Emily
Samuelman (North Andover, Mass.) and Phoebe
Laplante (New Bedford, Mass.) each tallied their first-career
goal and assist, respectively, on the final goal of the game on
Tuesday, Mar. 8 against Brown. Samuelman eyed a cutting Laplante,
who then to fired home the final goal of the contest with just four
seconds remaining.

Davis (Dairen, Conn.) had her best game of the season on
Tuesday, Mar. 8 against Brown. The junior, who grabbed three ground
balls and caused two turnovers, currently ranks second on the squad
overall in both categories.

Senior attack Laura
Iannotti (Rocky Point, N.Y.) has put together three-straight
two-goal performances to begin the 2011 season. With two goals on
Tuesday, Mar. 8 against Brown, Iannotti now has six goals to go
along with one assist on the season.
