Saturday's Game
The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team plays host to Mount St. Mary's Saturday, April 3, at 11:00 a.m. Senior Day Ceremonies will take place prior to the start of the game as the Bobcats will honor Katie Latonick (Severna Park, Md.), Lyndsey Banach (Syracuse, N.Y.), Kaitlyn Vennard (Albany, N.Y.), Kelly Bruneau (Cheshire, Conn.) and Brittany Hauser (East Northport, N.Y.) for their dedication to the team during their careers. Quinnipiac is tied atop the Northeast Conference standings with a 4-0 record following a last-second win against Monmouth on Thursday, 8-7.

Friends of Jaclyn
The Bobcats will continue their participation in the Friends of Jaclyn College Week Saturday against Mount St. Mary's at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf. Friends of Jaclyn is a non-profit organization geared towards improving the lives of children and their families affected by pediatric brain tumors. The women's lacrosse team is asking spectators to consider donations to the Friends of Jaclyn upon entry to the turf complex. Quinnipiac will also wear Friends of Jaclyn t-shirts during warm-ups with proceeds from purchasing the t-shirts to go directly to the organization.

Scouting the Mount
Mount St. Mary's comes to Quinnipiac having lost its most recent game on Thursday in overtime at Sacred Heart, 9-7. The Mount is led offensively by Ashley Johnson and her team-leading 37 points, which also rank third in the league. Her 30 goals lead the NEC this season as she is averaging a hat trick per game through 10 contests. Jordan Certeza's 13 assists are a team high and rank fourth in the league, while Emily Kirby is second on the team and seventh in the NEC with 10 assists. Brigid McTavish is the Mountaineers' No. 1 goalkeeper this season, starting all 10 games for the team in 2010. She has posted a 4-6 record this year with a goals-against average of 10.67.

Latonick's Late Heroics
Latonick's only goal of the game against Monmouth may have been the biggest of her career. With five seconds remaining, the Bobcats' team captain netted the game-winning goal to help Quinnipiac remain undefeated in NEC play. Holding the ball for much of the final minute, the fifth-year player was looking for an open teammate, but made the move to the front of the net to score the winner herself.

That's Taking Charge
Hauser may not show up with an assist in the box score, but her taken-charge with just over two minutes remaining in the game allowed the Bobcats to hold for the final possession. The senior defender planted her feet and took a charge from Monmouth's Rachel Feirstein at the side of the net for the caused turnover. Latonick scored two minutes later to win the game.

Senior Stats
This year's senior class has been one of the best in Quinnipiac program history. Posting 35 overall wins during their careers, this class is just one victory away from tying the record for wins in a four-year stretch. Also during this time period, the Bobcats have gone 23-5 in NEC play through this weekend and have claimed two Regular Season Championships.

Gibney's Clutch Too
Sophomore Devon Gibney (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored the tying goal on a free-position shot with 4:44 remaining in the game. The goal was the second of the match for Gibney who scored the final goal of the first half for the Bobcats. After briefly trailing 7-6, Gibney's goal evened the score for Quinnipiac and set up for the dramatic final minutes of play.

She Can Do It All
Junior Lauren Matuszczak (East Longmeadow, Mass.) scored once and added two assists against the Hawks. She also had three draw controls and three caused turnovers in the game.

Full 60
For the first time in her college career, junior Lexi DeStefano (Brookfield, Conn.) played all 60 minutes in goal. DeStefano came up big for the Bobcats in the second half; recording five of her seven saves in the final 30 minutes. In one sequence, she stopped three Monmouth shots with the clock under 10 minutes remaining in the game.
