Wednesday's Game
The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team plays host to Iona in the fifth and final contest of a five-game homestand Wednesday, Mar. 24 at 3 p.m. The Bobcats are coming off a 16-goal victory, 20-4, Sunday afternoon against Northeast Conference opponent and in-state rival Central Connecticut. The win has Quinnipiac in a tie for the top spot in the NEC standings with a 2-0 league record. The Bobcats are 2-2 in the first four games of the homestand, with both wins coming against conference opponents, Central Connecticut and Bryant.

Scouting the Gaels
Iona comes to Hamden for the second time in three seasons. Posting a 2-5 record, the Gaels have yet to play a conference game this season. Iona has played both Sacred Heart and Long Island at home in 2010, falling to the Pioneers, 14-11, while defeating the Blackbirds, 18-7. The team's most recent win came at Fresno State, 9-6, on Mar. 17 in the final contest of a three-game west coast road swing. Caitlyn Collins leads the Gaels with 25 points this season on 13 goals and a team-best 12 assists. Casey Scully and Elizabeth Coholan each lead the team with 14 goals. Quinnipiac has beaten Iona in each of the last two seasons, including a thrilling 12-11 win last season on a last-second goal.

Ton-O-Goals
The Bobcats scored 20 goals against CCSU on Sunday. Through two NEC games, Quinnipiac has scored 38 goals for an average of 19 a game. The team has scored 77 total goals in six games for an NEC-best average of 12.83 per game.

Eight is Enough
Graduate student and team captain Katie Latonick (Severna Park, Md.) scored a team season-high eight points against CCSU. Her four assists matched her season and conference high, while setting a new career high with the four goals in the game. Latonick leads the league in assists per game in 2010 at 2.17, while eighth among current players in career assists with 79.

New Face In Net
Junior Lexi DeStefano (Brookfield, Conn.) made her first career start in goal for the Bobcats against the Blue Devils. DeStefano played a career-high 39 minutes in the game, making four saves to earn the first win with the Bobcats.

Top of the Charts
Along with being the top scoring team in the NEC this season, Quinnipiac is also the top team in 2010 in assists, averaging 6.33 a game. The Bobcats are also the top team in total points per game this season with an average of 19.17, nearly three more than second-place Sacred Heart. The gap of 2.92 the largest between any two teams in that category this year.

The Bobcats Don't Giveth, But Bobcats Taketh Away
Quinnipiac is averaging just 17.33 turnovers per game this season, second in the NEC. The Bobcats are the top team in the league in caused turnovers as well, forcing opponents into making 11.5 a game.

Devon One Off Seven
Sophomore Devon Gibney (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored three times and added a career-high three assists against CCSU. The six points matched her career and season high. Gibney now has 15 goals and six assists this year for 21 points, tied with Latonick for the team lead.

Welcome to the Club
Sophomore Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) notched two goals and recorded one assist against the Blue Devils. The assist was the first of the season for Caroleo who leads the team with 17 goals through six games.
