Women's Lacrosse To Collect Used Wireless Phones At TD Banknorth Sports Center On Feb. 7
HAMDEN, Conn.
– The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team will collect
previously used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any
wireless provider during the basketball doubleheader and women's
ice hockey game this Saturday, Feb. 7 at the TD Banknorth Sports
Center. The collection is part of the Verizon Wireless HopeLine
program, which benefits victims of domestic abuse.
"I am very proud of my team for being so proactive with community service," said Danie Caro, Quinnipiac women's lacrosse head coach. "They have chosen a worthy cause to support and have done all the work needed to ensure this event is a success. It's very important to me that our student-athletes contribute on the field, in the classroom, and most importantly, in the larger community."
Fans are encouraged to recycle their old wireless phones and
equipment during the women's and men's basketball doubleheader
versus Bryant University (noon and 2 p.m., respectively), and the
final women's ice hockey home game versus Colgate at 4 p.m. For
