Women's Ice Hockey Volunteers for Cleanup Effort at Ronald McDonald House in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Several members of the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team volunteered, the day after a weekend home series, at the Ronald McDonald House in New Haven. The event was organized and carried out as a part of Quinnipiac's Positive Play initiative that enc ourages community involvement from Quinnipiac student-athletes, coaches and staff members.

The event was organize d by senior captain and community service leader Amanda Colin (Burnsville, Minn.) as a group of six Bobcats including Morgan Fritz-Ward, Anna Borgfeldt, Olivia Agostinelli, Sydney Rossman, Mika Nervick and Danielle Marmer arrived at the facility at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The Quinnipiac contingent started their efforts inside where they cleaned the kitchen area while also carrying away several loads of garbage.

The girls then moved outside where they worked for more than an hour on several activities including raking leaves, collecting loose trash and sweeping away pathway s to the Ronald McDonald House.
