HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 7/9 nationally-ranked Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team had their junior goalie Chelsea Laden (Lakeville, Minn.) appear as a special guest on the weekly ECAC Hockey Radio Show hosted by Bernie Corbett. The program features both the women's and men's side of the conference with one player each per week and focuses on their accomplishment this season as well as previewing this weekend's upcoming matchups.
Laden has been the most consistent goalie in the country with some gaudy numbers including an 8-1-3 record with the nation's lowest goals against average at 0.85 and the second best save percentage at .957. The backbone of the Bobcats' success, Laden has allowed only 10 goals in 12 games and also has posted the most shutouts of any goalie in the nation with five this season. As the pressure mounts in games Laden has been at her best, allowing only one goal in 240 total minutes in the third periods of games this season. Her miniscule 0.27 goals against average and .984 save percentage both rank as the nation's best among goalies with at least 100 minutes played.
Quinnipiac will hit the ice for a pair of tough nonconference showdowns with No. 5 Boston College on Friday at 3:00 pm and New Hampshire on Saturday with the puck set to drop at 3:00 pm as well.
