Before Quinnipiac: Spent her freshman and sophomore seasons at Syracuse University where she led her team to the 2013 College Hockey America Championship Game…Transfers to Quinnipiac in 2013 after compiling 42 points (23 goals, 19 assists) in 70 career games…She led Syracuse in goals (16), game-winning goals (four), and tallied the second-most power-play goals (four) in 2012-13…Finished 2012-13 with 24 points (16 goals, eight assists) for the second-highest scoring total on the Orange…Named CHA Player of the Week on 1/14/13 after scoring her second career hat trick on 1/8 against Colgate…In her freshman year she finished with 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) including four power-play goals in 35 games…Recorded a hat trick with three power-play goals in the CHA semifinals against Mercyhurst on 3/2/12, becoming the first player in Syracuse program history to score three power-play  goals in one game…Earned a spot on the CHA All-Tournament Team and CHA Rookie of the Week honors following her playoff hat trick in 2012…Played for the Detroit Little Caesar’s while in high school at Brighton High School…Won gold medal with USA Hockey’s U-18 National Team at the 2010 Ice Hockey World Championships in Sweden…Also played lacrosse while at Brighton, earning All-State honors.

Personal: Born in Royal Oak, Mich. and raised in Brighton, Mich…Daughter of Anthony and JoAnn Darkangelo…Has three brothers Anthony, Austin and Isaac as well as two sisters Mariah and Ciara…Her father started a girl’s hockey team when Shiann turned 14 and has since mentored young girls in the program…She plans on majoring in Sociology.
