Women's Division I PairWise Rankings

HAMDEN, Conn. – After they finished up their second road weekend conference sweep this season, the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team garnered the No. 11 spot in the USCHO.com PairWise Rankings. The Bobcats (19-10-4, 13-6-3 ECAC Hockey) are ranked this high for the second time this season as the No. 11 ranking matches their season-best during 2012-13.

The Bobcats are coming off a thrilling weekend road sweep of Yale and Brown, both by a score of 4-0. Coming into the weekend two points behind St. Lawrence in the ECAC Hockey point standings, Quinnipiac needed at least three points and a little help from the Saints' opponents going into the final regular season weekend. The Bobcats did their part, with the two victories and four points all they needed was for the Saints to lose one of their two remaining games. After St. Lawrence tied Harvard on Friday, Dartmouth took them down 7-2 on Saturday to help the Bobcats secure the No. 4 seed and home ice against No. 5 St. Lawrence in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals.

Senior Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) has kept her impressive string of games going as she is up to nine straight games without allowing more than one goal. Vigilanti continued to dominate the competition with two consecutive shutouts this past weekend as she began the weekend set with a 12-save outing against Yale on Friday and followed with a 24-save shutout of Brown to help her team secure four crucial points. She has put together an eye-popping 0.57 goals-against average and .975 save percentage (197 saves on 202 shots) over the nine-game stretch (592:24 minutes).

The Quinnipiac offense over the weekend was led by junior Erica Uden Johansson (Sundsvall, Sweden) who notched back-to-back multi-point games for the Bobcats. After having not tallied two points in a game since Nov. 24, 2012 (14 games), Uden Johansson went off for consecutive multi-point games including back-to-back game-winning goals. Her weekend began with a shorthanded goal against Yale and she followed with an assist on a Regan Boulton (Brandon, Manitoba) power-play goal in the third to land her two points. Saturday featured another game-winner, this time on the man advantage to give her six power-play goals on the season. It was also her fourth game-winner this season, tied for most on the team. With an assist late in the third period, her regular season total is up to 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists), good for fourth-most on the team.
