Women's Ice Hockey Selected To Finish Third In ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey team was selected to finish third in the 2011-12 ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league on Thursday, Sept. 15. The Bobcats collected 93 points and one first-place vote after posting a 22-12-3 overall record (12-9-1 ECAC Hockey) last season, en route to the team’s first-ever appearance in the ECAC Hockey Semifinals.
Cornell, with 11 first-place votes, was the unanimous selection to repeat as ECAC Hockey champions, followed by Harvard and Quinnipiac. Dartmouth, Clarkson and St. Lawrence rounded out the top six, while Princeton, Rensselaer, Colgate, Yale, Brown and Union completed the poll.

The Bobcats lace up their skates for the first time this season, when they host the Durham Jr. Lighting squad in an exhibition game on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 PM. Quinnipiac kicks off its regular season schedule when it heads out to face Mercyhurst for a two-game set on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1.
