HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's ice hockey freshman forward Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) broke the Quinnipiac single-season goals scored record with her 16th goal of the year, surpassing Hayley McMeekin, who scored 15 goals during the 2006-07 season, as the Bobcats skated to an emphatic 4-0 victory over Brown on Friday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center. Quinnipiac improves its overall record to 12-6-1 and its ECAC Hockey record to 5-5-0, while Brown falls to 2-7-2 overall and 1-4-2 in ECAC Hockey action.

Babstock (one goal, one assist) surpassed Hayley McMeekin's 2006-07 15 goal season with a tally at the 4:04 mark into the second period. The freshman had already eclipsed the program's single-season points and assists records, as well as single-game points record, which were all set on Friday, Nov. 26 in a 9-1 victory over Sacred Heart.

Junior forward Bethany Dymarczyk (Hamden, Conn.) netted the game's first goal at the 2:22 mark of the first period. Babstock slid the puck up ice where Dymarczyk took a one-time slap shot that sailed over the right shoulder of Brown's sophomore goaltender Katie Jamieson.

Babstock extended Quinnipiac's lead to 2-0 with her second period goal, as she corralled a rebound and put in her team-high 16th goal of the season. Freshman forward Erica Uden Johansson (Sundsvall, Sweden), who took the shot prior to the goal, was credited with her 11th assist of the season, while freshman defender Shelby Wignall (Hamilton, Ontario) earned her fourth helper of the year.

The Bobcats capitalized on its third power play of the evening to increase its lead to 3-0, as senior forward Kelley Davies (Chesapeake, Va.) tallied her third goal of the season at the 14:53 mark of the second period. On the score, freshman forward Elena Orlando (Chico, Calif.) and junior defender Jordan Elkins (Wasilla, Alaska) each notched her respective third and fifth assists of the season.

Quinnipiac added a fourth goal for good measure with 48 second remaining in the third period on a goal from junior forward Chelsea Illchuk (Lockport, Manitoba), her second of the season. She was assisted by Dymarczyk and Orlando on the score.

Sophomore goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) made 17 saves on the evening, earning her fifth shutout of the season. Her counterpart Jamieson turned away 36 shots of her own.
