The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team (11-6-1) (4-5-0 ECAC Hockey) will compete in its two December contests when it hosts conference opponents Brown (2-6-2) (1-3-2 ECAC Hockey) on Friday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. and Yale (3-7-2) (2-3-1 ECAC Hockey) on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m.

About Brown University
Brown comes to Quinnipiac in the midst of its second three-game losing streak of the season. In its last contest on Sunday, Nov. 28, the Bears were defeated by Northeastern, 2-1. Sophomore forward Laurie Jolin scored the lone goal for Brown late in the third period to prevent the team from its first scoreless performance of the year. Jolin leads the squad with seven points (five goals, two assists), as senior defender Erica Fromm, sophomore forward Erica Farrer, and freshman forward Jessica Hoyl are all tied for second on the team with five points. Sophomore goaltender Katie Jamieson and freshman netminder Aubree Moore have split time in goal this season. Jamieson has accumulated a .931 save percentage and a 2.34 goals against average in seven games, while Moore has a .929 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average in five games.
All-Time Against The Bears
Friday's contest will be the 13th time the two squads will face each other. In their last meeting on February, 20, 2010, Quinnipiac defeated Brown 8-1 in its final regular season contest. Seven different Bobcats scored in the victory, while freshman goaltender Victoria made 30 saves on the evening to earn her 17th victory as a starting goaltender.
About Yale University
Yale is led by senior forward Bray Ketchum who has a team high nine points on the season. She is tied with freshman forward Jackie Raines (six points) and sophomore forward Alyssa Zupon (five points) with a team-high four goals scored. The Bulldogs have used a two-goalie rotation, as junior goaltender Genny Ladiges and senior netminder Jackee Snikeris have each played in seven and four games, respectively. Ladiges holds a .929 save percentage and a 2.39 goals against average, while Snikeris has a .938 save percentage and a 2.26 goals against average.
All-Time Against The Bulldogs
The matchup between Yale and Quinnipiac will be the 20th time the two squads will face each other. In their last meeting just a weekend ago, Quinnipiac defeated Yale, 2-1, on Nov. 27 to win the Nutmeg Classic Tournament for the second time in school history. Junior forward Kate Wheeler (Oakville, Ontario) netted the game's first goal with just five seconds remaining in the first period to give the Bobcats the 1-0 lead. Sophomore forward Brittany Lyons (Canton, Mass.) scored the winning goal for Quinnipiac at the 11:56 mark of the second period. Sophomore goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) turned away 22 shots to earn her 10th victory of the season.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac earned its second-ever Nutmeg Classic Tournament championship with wins over Sacred Heart and Yale on November 26 and 27. Tournament MVP Kate Wheeler contributed two goals and three assists over the weekend, while freshman forward Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) was also honored by being named to the all-tournament team. Babstock tallied a team-record two goals and four assists in Friday's 9-1 victory over Sacred Heart.
Nutmeg Classic Champions
With Saturday's 2-1 victory over Yale, Quinnipiac won the Nutmeg Classic Tournament for the first time since the 2005-06 season.
Wheels Burnin' Up
In addition to Wheeler being named the Nutmeg Classic Tournament MVP, she was also selected as the ECAC Hockey/MLX Skates Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Nov. 29. This was the third Player of the Week selection for Wheeler this season. The Oakville, Ontario native has scored a career high eight goals this season and is tied with her career high of 10 assists in a season. Her 18 points are good for second on both the team and in the ECAC in total points. She ranks eighth in the league in goals, third in assists, and first in plus/minus with an overall plus-19 mark.
New Record Holder
With a program-record six points (two goals, four assists) recorded in Friday's 9-1 victory over Sacred Heart, Babstock broke the program's single season points and assists records. In just 17 games, Babstock has accumulated 15 goals, 18 assists for a total of 33 points. In NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey, she ranks first in points, second in assists and third in goals scored. The Mississauga, Ontario native also ranks first in game-winning goals (5) and second in points per game amongst rookies (1.83), which is good for seventh overall in the country. For her performance over the weekend, Babstock was recognized with her third ECAC Hockey/MLX Skates Rookie of the Week selection.
Lyons Leads The Pack
Brittany Lyons' two goals over the weekend gives her five on the season, which is a new career-high. The sophomore ranks fifth on the team in goals and sixth on the team with eight points. Lyons now has two-career game-winning goals, as her last game-winner came on January, 8, 2010 in a 2-1 victory over Dartmouth.
Back-To-Back
Quinnipiac's victories on Friday and Saturday marked the first time it swept a weekend series since October 9-10, when it defeated Northeastern and Sacred Heart on consecutive nights.
Eight Is Great
On Friday, Nov. 27 against Sacred Heart, eight different skaters scored for the Bobcats. The last time Quinnipiac had eight different goal scorers in one game was on November 28, 2009, ironically against Sacred Heart.
Lockdown Defense
Through 18 games played, Quinnipiac is holding opponents to just 1.89 goals per game. This ranks second in ECAC Hockey and seventh in the NCAA.
Power Play Goals
Quinnipiac's 22.5 percent power play success rate ranks second behind Cornell in ECAC Hockey and is good for fifth overall in the NCAA.
Winter Break
Quinnipiac returns from a four-week break when it suits up against Princeton on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. The game will be played at the Hobey Baker Rink in Princeton, N.J.
