NIAGARA, N.Y. - Junior forward Kate Wheeler's (Oakville, Ontario) two second period goals helped lead the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team to a 3-0 victory in its season opener against non-conference opponent Niagara University at Dwyer Arena. The win gives Quinnipiac a 1-0-0 record on the season while Niagara begins its season 0-1-0.
Wheeler netted her first goal of the contest at the 9:13 mark of the second period. On the play, she was assisted by freshman forward Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) and freshman defenseman Shelby Wignall ( Hamilton, Ontario).
