Women's Ice Hockey Places Nine On ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team placed nine student-athletes on the 2009-10 ECAC Hockey All-Academic team, as released by the ECAC Hockey league office on Tuesday, June 23. Seniors Breana Burton (Surrey, British Columbia) and Evelina Husar (Eskilstuna, Sweden) were honored by ECAC Hockey for their academic achievements.

In addition to seniors Burton and Husar, juniors Kelsey Britton (Ashland, Mass.), Kelley Davies (Chesapeake, Virg.) and Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) were also honored. It was the second straight year that Britton and Davies landed on the team. Sophomores Jordan Elkins (Wasilla, Alaska), Melissa Perry (Chelsea, Mich.) and Chelsea Illchuk (Lockport, Manitoba) were among the sophomores named to the team, while Kerry Wilson was the lone freshman honored for the Bobcats. Elkins, Perry and Illchuk were all honored as freshman.

Student-athletes are eligible for the All-Academic team if they earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.
