Former Women's Ice Hockey Captain, Trudy Reyns, Featured In Northumberland Today
HAMDEN,
Conn. - Former Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey player,
Trudy Reyns '09, was recently featured in a hometown newspaper,
Northumberland Today, out of Northumberland, Ontario discussing her
time playing hockey overseas. The article is titled 'Reyns Enjoying
European Experience,' and was written by sports reporter Jeff Gard.
Reyns currently plays for the Salzburg Ravens out of Austria in the
Elite Women's Hockey League. Reyns has had a successful season thus
far with the Ravens, and recently earned the Top Defenseman Award
at the International Ice Hockey Federation European Women's
Championship Cup.
Reyns, a
Port Hope, Ontario-native, played in 136 games during her four
years with the Bobcats, and captained the squad during her junior
and senior seasons. She ranks second in program history in career
games played, just two games short of the record held by Vicky
Graham '08. Reyns tallied 13 goals and 38 assists in her career
with Quinnipiac, and ranks fourth in the program's history in
career points with 51.
In her five
months with the Ravens, Reyns' leadership abilities have shone
through and the defenseman now serves as an Alternate Captain for
