Women's Ice Hockey Associate Head Coach Harry Rosenholtz To Serve As Goalie Coach At USA Hockey Developmental Camp
Quinnipiac women's ice hockey associate head coach Harry Rosenholtz has been selected to serve as a goaltending coach at the 2010 USA Hockey Girls Select 16 &17 Player Development Camp.The camp is scheduled to run from June 25 through July 1 at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. This is the third straight year that Rosenholtz has attended the camp.

Women's Ice Hockey Places Nine On ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team placed nine student-athletes on the 2009-10 ECAC Hockey All-Academic #$%^team, as released by the ECAC Hockey league office on Tuesday, June 23. Seniors Breana Burton (Surrey, British Columbia) #$%^and Evelina Husar (Eskilstuna, Sweden) were honored by ECAC Hockey for their academic achievements.

Victoria Vigilanti And Women's Ice Hockey Team Finish 2010 As National Statistical Champions
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team, along with freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario), have concluded the 2010 season as the National Statistical Champion in three different categories. As a team, the Bobcats finished first in the nation in the Scoring Defense category as they allowed just 1.38 goals per game. Vigilanti closed out the season ranking atop two goaltending categories, finishing first amongst all Division I goaltenders in goals against average (1.24) and save percentage (.950).

Kallie Flor Named Women's Ice Hockey Most Valuable Player At Annual Awards Banquet
Senior forward and team captain Kallie Flor (Farmington, Minn.) was named the Quinnipiac University Women's Ice Hockey Most Valuable Player at the team's annual end-of-the-year banquet Saturday evening at the TD Bank Sports Center. Junior defender Kelsey Britton (Ashland, Mass.) received the Coaches Award on the evening, while sophomore defenseman Jordan Elkins (Wasilla, Alaska) was given the Top Defensive Player award. Also honored was freshman Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario), who was named the team's Rookie of the Year.

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team has been named the recipient of the SKOR Sports Trophy, as announced by the ECAC Hockey league office. The Bobcats earn the award after posting their most successful season in program history, finishing the year with a 19-10-8 overall record with an 11-4-7 mark in ECAC Hockey.

Rick Seeley And Victoria Vigilanti Earn New England Division I Postseason Awards
Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey Head Coach Rick Seeley and freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) have earned postseason awards from the New England Hockey Writers, as announced by the committee this morning. Seeley was named the New England Division I Women's Coach of the Year, while Vigilanti was named one of two goaltenders on the New England Women's Division I All-Star Team. The duo earns the recognition after leading the Bobcats to their most successful season in program history.

Rick Seeley Named Runner-Up For AHCA Women's Division I Coach Of The Year
Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey Head Coach Rick Seeley was named the runner-up for the American Hockey Coaches Association Women's Division I Coach of the Year award, as announced on Wednesday, Mar. 24. The runner-up status comes just three weeks after Seeley was named ECAC Women's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year.

Victoria Vigilanti Named ECAC Rookie And Goaltender Of The Year
Freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) of the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team has earned two conference postseason awards as she was named the 2009-10 ECAC Women's Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Year and the ECAC Rookie of the Year this afternoon. Vigilanti is the first Quinnipiac student-athlete to earn either award in ECAC Hockey and is the first to win a major-league award in the women's ice hockey program history.

The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics and Recreation has named men's basketball junior Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) and women's ice hockey freshman Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) the February Athletes of the Month. This is the third consecutive month that Rutty has been recognized as Quinnipiac Male Athlete of the Month and it is the second time as Female Athlete of the Month for Vigilanti.

Women's Ice Hockey Falls To RPI, 2-1, In Fifth OT
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team fell to Rensselaer, 2-1, in the deciding game of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals this afternoon. The game was the second-longest NCAA Division I History, as the teams played 144:32 minutes of hockey into the fifth overtime period. The game was the longest since women's ice hockey became an NCAA sport in 2001. Freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) recorded a season-high 57 saves in net as the Bobcats' most successful season in program history ends with an overall record 19-10-8.

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team has been ranked 10th in the most recent USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll for the first time in program history after six consecutive weeks of receiving votes. In addition to the ranking, the Bobcats earned seven votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll. Quinnipiac recieves the national recognition after posting the program's best season record in their nine-year history; recording 19 wins overall with 11 conference victories.

Illchuk's Double OT Goal Earns Women's Ice Hockey 2-1 Playoff Victory Against RPI
Sophomore forward Chelsea Illchuk (Lockport, Manitoba) scored in double overtime to propel the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team to their first-ever playoff victory as they defeated Rensselaer, 2-1, Friday evening. Freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) turned aside a season-high 40 saves as the Bobcats improve to 19-8-8 on the year. With the win, Quinnipiac improves to 1-0 in the best-of-three game series with the Engineers.

The Bobcats will host the Engineers in a best-of-three game series to be #$%^played Friday, Saturday and Sunday (if necessary). The first game will be played on Friday evening at 4 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday's games will #$%^start at 2 p.m. In their last outing, Quinnipiac defeated Brown University, 8-1, at the TD Bank.

Vigilanti And Hughes Earn All-ECAC Hockey Honors
Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey freshmen Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) and Heather Hughes (Stouffville, Ontario) have been honored by ECAC Hockey as each have been named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team. In addition to the All-Rookie honors, Vigilanti was also named goaltender on the All-ECAC Hockey First Team. This is the first time since the 2006-07 season that the Bobcats have earned a postseason award, and it is the first time in program history for two players to be honored in the same season.

Women's Ice Hockey Receives Votes In National Polls For Sixth Consecutive Week
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team has received votes in the USCHO.com weekly Division I Women's Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll for the sixth consecutive week. The Bobcats earned 18 votes in the USCHO.com poll and 14 points in the USA Today poll, which more than triples the amount of votes they received in last week's polls. Quinnipiac earns the continued recognition after they defeated Yale and Brown over the weekend, securing home ice for the 2010 ECAC Playoffs.

For the third consecutive week, freshman Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) has received a weekly award from ECAC Hockey. The eight goals scored by the Bobcats matches the most ever scored against an ECAC opponent as their regular season record improves to 18-8-8 overall with an 11-4-7 record in ECAC Hockey. The Bears' record drops to 3-21-4 on the year, with a 1-18-3 final conference record.

Freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) recorded 17 saves in net for her fifth shutout of the season as the Bobcats' record improves to 17-8-8 overall with a 10-4-7 record in ECAC Hockey. With the loss, the Bulldogs' record drops to 8-12-1 overall, with a 10-15-3 record in conference play.

Quinnipiac is currently #$%^16-8-8 overall and 9-4-7 in ECAC Hockey play - good for 5th place in the league standings. The feature is also scheduled to run on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

Vigilanti earns the award after helping the Bobcats to a 1-0-1 weekend on the road against Cornell and Colgate, playing all 125 minutes between the pipes. This is the fourth time Vigilanti has been recognized by the conference in a weekly award, and it is her second Rookie of the Week nod this season.

For the fifth time this season, the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team scored back-to-back goals in less than 30 seconds as they defeated Union College, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. Three different Bobcats scored in the victory, with two goals tallied just eight seconds apart in the second period as their record improves to 14-8-6 overall with a 7-4-5 record in ECAC Hockey. Freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) of the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team was named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week and the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week this afternoon. Vigilanti earns the awards after helping the Bobcats record two wins against Dartmouth and No.-5 ranked Harvard at the TD Bank Sports Center on Friday and Saturday. The rookie netminder turned aside 51 shots in 120 minutes between the pipes on the weekend. This is the third time Vigilanti has been recognized as ECAC Goaltender of the week and it is her first Rookie of the Week honor.

Former Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey player, Trudy Reyns '09, was recently featured in a hometown newspaper, Northumberland Today, out of Northumberland, Ontario discussing her time playing hockey overseas. The article is titled ?Reyns Enjoying European Experience,' and was written by sports reporter Jeff Gard. Reyns currently plays for the Salzburg Ravens out of Austria in the Elite Women's Hockey League. Reyns has had a successful season thus far with the Ravens, and recently earned the Top Defenseman Award at the International Ice Hockey Federation European Women's Championship Cup.

Women's Ice Hockey Game Between Team USA And ECAC Hockey All-Stars To Feature Several Players With Connecticut Ties
Quinnipiac University will host a women's ice hockey festival on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. The head-lining game, between the 2010 U.S. Olympic Women's team and the ECAC Hockey All-Stars is sandwiched between a youth game pitting the Connecticut Polar Bears against the New Jersey Colonials and a high school game between Hamden and Guilford. Several players with Connecticut ties will play in the game, which is part of the Qwest Tour. The Qwest Tour, presented by Qwest Communications, is a series of exhibitions by the women's national team leading up to the Olympics in February. Included in the group women's ice hockey players with Connecticut ties is Quinnipiac senior Janine Duffy, who will lace-up the skates for the ECAC Hockey All-Stars.

Quinnipiac University will host the 2010 Qwest Tour featuring the USA Hockey Women's National Team when they hit the ice in an exhibition game against the ECAC Hockey All-Stars on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. In addition the afternoon will feature the first scholastics match-up in the TD Bank Sports Center's history when the girls varsity teams from Hamden High School and Guilford High School face each other in a CIAC match-up set for 4:30 p.m.

Women's Ice Hockey Announces 2009-10 Schedule
The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics has announced the women's ice hockey schedule for the 2009-10 season. The season is highlighted by the USA Women's Olympic Team coming to the TD Bank Sports Center to face the ECAC Hockey All-Stars on Sunday, Jan. 3. The Bobcats will also face the University of New Hampshire, a team that was nationally ranked last season, on Sunday, Oct. 4.
