Eight Women's Ice Hockey Players Named To ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team landed eight student-athletes on the 2008-09 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team. Student-athletes eligible for the All-Academic team must earn a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00, on a 4.00 scale, or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.

Of the eight Bobcat players named to the team, three are second-time recipients including senior Erika Bolognino (Carol Stream, Ill.), who posted a 3.27 grade-point average in psychology, as well sophomores Kelsey Britton (Ashland, Mass.), who finished with a 3.57 GPA in physical therapy, and Anny Kallum (Gothenberg, Sweden), who has a cumulative GPA of 3.42 in biomedical studies.

Sophomores Kelley Davies (Chesapeake, Va.) and Tia Wishart (Vancouver Island, British Columbia) received the honor for the first time. Davies, currently undecided on a major, boasts a 3.34 GPA while Wishart, majoring in liberal arts, has a 3.16.

Freshman Melissa Perry (Chelsea, Mich.) had the team-high GPA, finishing her first year with a 3.85 in physical therapy. She was joined the list by classmates Jordan Elkins (Wasilla, Alaska), who had a 3.66 while majoring in journalism, and Chelsea Illchuck (Lockhart, Manitoba), who is also undecided, turned in a 3.16.
