Women's Ice Hockey Volunteers At March Of Dimes Event
Nine members of the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team volunteered their time at the March of Dimes New Haven March for Babies walk on April 26. The march took place at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven.

Kallie Flor Named Women's Ice Hockey Captain For 2009-10 Season
Junior assistant captain Kallie Flor (Farmington, Minn.) was named captain of the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team for the 2009-10 season at the Women's Ice Hockey Awards Banquet. Fellow junior Evelina Husar (Eskilstuna, Sweden) was appointed assistant captain for the second consecutive season. Junior Janine Duffy (Toronto, Ontario) was named the team's Most Valuable Player at the banquet, while senior Trudy Reyns (Port Hope, Ontario) was awarded the Defensive Player of the Year, and freshman Chelsea Illchuk (Lockhart, Manitoba) took home the Rookie of the Year accolade. Team trainer Jennifer Skelley was also recognized, earning the Coaches Award.

Quinnipiac University To Host Qwest Tour And U.S. Women's National Ice Hockey Team On Jan. 3, 2010
Quinnipiac University and USA Hockey today announced that the Qwest Tour, featuring the 2009-10 U.S. Women's National Team, will come to the TD Banknorth Sports Center on Jan. 3, 2010 when Team USA plays the ECAC Hockey All-Stars at 2 p.m. Ticket information and other details will be announced at a later time and available on quinnipiacbobcats.com. The game will be one of 10 throughout the United States as Team USA prepares for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Kicking off on Sept. 25 at the Xcel Energy Center, the Qwest Tour will stop in nine U.S. cities and will continue into February 2010.

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey program has teamed up with the Holiday Inn in North Haven, Conn., to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Eight Women's Ice Hockey Players Named To ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team landed eight student-athletes on the 2008-09 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team. Student-athletes eligible for the All-Academic team must earn a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00, on a 4.00 scale, or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.

Women's Ice Hockey Edged By Yale, 1-0
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team saw numerous scoring opportunities, and held Yale scoreless for 55 minutes of play, but were defeated, 1-0, Friday night at Ingalls Rink. With the loss, the Bobcats record falls to 3-25-5 overall and 2-14-5 in ECAC Hockey, as the Bulldogs improve to 12-15-1 overall and 8-12-1 in conference.

In their final game of the 2008-09 season the Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team was defeated, 3-1, by Brown Saturday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium. Chelsea Illchuk (Lockhart, Manitoba) scored the lone goal for the Bobcats in the third period. With the loss, the Bobcats finish their season at 3-26-5 overall and 2-15-5 in ECAC Hockey as Brown concludes their season at 7-21-1 overall and 6-16-0 in conference.

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team will play host to Cornell and Colgate in their final home games of the 2008-09 season. The Bobcats will take on the Big Red Friday night at 7 p.m., and will face off against the Raiders Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. Five seniors, Trudy Reyns (Port Hope, Ontario), Elyse Cole (Belleville, Ontario), Antoinette Maldonado (Glendora, Calif.), Danielle Alexieff (Middletown, N.J.) and Erika Bolognino (Carol Stream, Ill.), will be honored before the puck drops against Colgate in their final game at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. In its most recent game, Quinnipiac was defeated by Yale, 2-1 on Jan. 31.

Elyse Cole (Belleville, Ontario) scored her ninth goal of the season late in the third period to pull the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team to within a goal, but the Bobcats lost to Princeton, 2-1, in an ECAC Hockey game at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. The loss snaps the Bobcats' two-game unbeaten streak and drops their record to 2-8-4 in ECAC Hockey play and 3-19-4 overall. The Tigers improve to 9-5-0 in conference play and 12-8-1 overall with the win.

Trudy Reyns (Port Hope, Ontario) scored the teams' lone goal with under seven minutes to play in the third period to pull the Bobcats even with the Dutchwomen. Quinnipiac's record now stands at 2-7-3 in ECAC play and 3-18-3 overall. Union is now 0-8-1 in conference play and its overall record now stands at 2-16-3 with the tie.

It was the career high in points in a single game for the junior forward. The Bobcats record improves to 3-18-4 overall and 2-7-4 in ECAC Hockey while the Engineers' record stands at 11-7-3 overall and 6-2-2 in conference with the tie.

Elyse Cole Sets Program Record In 2-2 Tie With Cornell
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team tied with Cornell, 2-2, on Saturday afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y. Senior captain Elyse Cole (Belleville, Ontario) had back-to- back power play goals in the second period to give her the record for most career goals scored with 38. The record was previously held by Vicky Graham ?08 who scored 36 goals for the Bobcats during her career (2003-08). The Bobcats' record now stands at 2-9-1 overall and 1-2-1 in ECAC Hockey while the Big Red improved to 2-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in conference.

Women's Ice Hockey Defeats Colgate, 3-2, For First-Ever Win Against Raiders
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team came from behind to defeat Colgate, 3-2, Friday night at Starr Rink. The win is the first ever for the Bobcats against Colgate, after having gone 0-12-1 in the past seven seasons. The win improves Quinnipiac's record to 1-2-0 in ECAC Hockey play and 2-9-0 overall. Colgate drops to 0-1-0 in conference and 5-5-0 overall with the loss. Freshman forward Kate Wheeler (Oakville, Ontario) recorded her first career points with a goal and an assist. Janine Duffy (Toronto, Ontario) and Kallie Flor (Farmington, Minn.) also scored for the Bobcats.

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team will host St. Cloud State University in their home opener at the TD Banknorth Center on Friday Oct. 3 and Saturday Oct. 4. The Bobcats (0-2) and St. Cloud State play at 7pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team opens the 2008-09 season in Madison, Wis. against the University of Wisconsin this weekend. This will be the second time the Bobcats open their season against the Badgers on the road. The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team was picked to finish 11th out of 12 teams in the 2008-09 ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll. The Bobcats collected 27 points after posting a 5-24-5 overall record in 2007-08, including a 2-16-4 record in ECAC Hockey play.
