"We had a pretty good day on the course today with Nicole Scola's 79 and Jenn Whaley's 80," head coach John O'Connor said. "It was extremely difficult, we had to stop play because or torrential downpour and 20-25 miles-per-hour winds. We had to go back out to finish the last three holes before it was finally called for darkness. Standing water and darkness made it really difficult. I'm very pleased how everyone played."

Host St. John's led the field with a combined 313, followed by Siena at 317, LIU Brooklyn at 322 and then Quinnipiac at 330. The Bobcats finished ahead of Albany (333), Hartford (340), Hofstra (341), Monmouth (341), St. Francis (N.Y.) (349), Wagner (415), Fairleigh Dickinson (419) and Sacred Heart (491).

The Bobcats landed three players in the top-third of the field, with Jenn Whaley (Farmington, Conn.) tied for 12th while freshman Emily Ribbins (Grand Cayman, Caymany Islands) was tied for 20th.

Scola led all Bobcat golfers with a 79, shooting a 40 on the front nine before shedding a stroke with a 39 on the back nine. Whaley opened the day with a 38 on the front nine before finishing with an 80, her third lowest single-round score of the season.  Ribbins carded an 83 (39-44).

"Jenn Forlenza had a 41 on the front nine, which was great," O'Connor said. "The elements really affected her on the back nine and she struggled when the win picked up. Taylor Lambrough shot an 88, which was a great improvement for her. I'm hopeful that both of their scores will improve tomorrow."

Taylor Lambrou (Baldwin, N.Y.) shot an 88 for a tie of 46th place while Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) finished tied for 49th with a 89.

The Bobcats return to the links at Eisenhower Park's White Course in East Meadow, N.Y. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8 a.m.
