Kayla Ketcheson Tied For 20th At C & F Women's Golf Invitaitonal In Williamsburg, Va.

"It's a great event, with 28 great teams," head coach John O'Connor said. "It's one of the premier college events each year. I was hoping for better results from our players, but it's basically our first round of the season. We haven't been able to get outside, but the weather at this time of year isn't ideal. It's very cold and we had some rain this morning and that's make the course tough."

Senior Kayle Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) led the Bobcats with a 78 (+7) for a tie for 20^th place in a field of 150 at Kingsmill Resort. Ketcheson started the day with a par on hole No. 10 before bogeying six holes on the back nine. Ketcheson rebounded at the turn, shooting two-over for the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on hole No. 6.

Krissy Unger (New York, N.Y.) finished the first day with a 79 (+9) for a tie for 31st. Unger bogeyed three holes on the back-nine, and also added a double bogey on 12. She then rebounded with a par on eight straight holes before a birdie on six.

"I'm extremely pleased with the way Kayla and Krissy played today," O'Connor said. "Angelica played well and I expect Jenn Whaley to rebound and play much better tomorrow."

Quinnipiac resumes play on Monday, Mar. 18 at the C&F Bank Invitational at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
