WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team finished sixth among the six teams at the 2012 Hartford Invitational, hosted by the University of Hartford at Rockledge Golf Course in West Hartford, Conn.
Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) finished among the tournament's top 20, falling into a tie for 17th place. In the process, she broke the program's tournament record with a 166 (81-85), besting the mark she set last week at the Brown Invitational when she finished with a 167 for the two-day event.
Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) shot a 98 on the second day to combine with her first-day total of 88 for a 186 for the tournament. Nicole Ferretti (Rumson, N.J.) finished a stroke behind at 187 (88-99), followed by Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) at 191 (92-99). Jessica Rotell (Cheshire, Conn.) finished with a 192 (95-97).
Siena won the event with a two-day 620 (304-316), followed by Boston University's 639 (318-321). Monmouth was third at 647 (317-330), while Sacred Heart at 656 (326-330) and Hartford at 663 (325-338) fell in in front of Quinnipiac, at 728 (349-379).
Quinnipiac is back in action for the 2012 Northeast Conference Championships, to be held at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. On April 27-29.
