Quinnipiac Women’s Golf Completes First Day Of Competition At C&F Bank Intercollegiate Tournament

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team currently sits in 21st place at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate Tournament at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. Junior Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) carded a team-best round of 85 and sits in a tie for 68th place.

Ketcheson's 85 after the first round put her at +14, 14 strokes behind the leader, Longwood's Kameron Carter, who won the C&F Bank Invitational in 2010. Senior Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) finished at 100 (+29), followed by Hannah Russell (Monson, Mass.) with a 101 (+30). Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) shot a 104 (+33) while Stacey Kmill (Thunder Bay, Ontario) shot a 124.

Longwood sits in first place with a +16, 300, followed by St. John's (307, +23), St. Leo (308, +24), Toledo (309,+25) and Boston College (314, +30) to round-out the top five. Penn and High Point were tied for seventh at 317 (+33) while Hofstra and Radford were tied for ninth at 319 (+35). Delaware (323, +39), William & Mary (325, +41), Sacred Heart (332, +48),  Fairfield (333, +49), Monmouth (334, +50), Central Connecticut State (338, +54), Hampton (342, +58), Mount St. Mary's (349, +65), Saint Francis (Pa) (356, +72) and Towson (369, +85) rounded out the field.

Quinnipiac returns to Kingsmill Resort on Monday, March 19 for the second day of competition. Kmill will tee off at 8:10 a.m., followed by Forlenza at 8:20 a.m., Russell at 8:30 a.m., Nagel at 8:40 a.m. and Ketcheson at 8:50 a.m.
