WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Quinnipiac University women's golf
team finished seventh out of seven teams at the 2011 Monmouth
University Hawk Invitational at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood,
N.J. Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) paced the Bobcats with a
two-day total of 198 (102-96).
On Saturday, Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) shot a team-best 98,
while Forlenza was just behind at 102. Brianna Tansley (Nashua,
N.H.) shot a 104 on Saturday. On Sunday, in the second round, both
Forlenza and Tansley chipped in with twin 96's as Tansley finished
at 200 for the tournament. Nagel had a 110 on the second day for a
two-day total of 208.
Hofstra took first place with a 678 (336-342), followed by
Monmouth with a 680 (339-341). Long Island finished third with a
685 (336-349), followed by Wagner (702, 347-355), Central
Connecticut State (727, 371-356) and St. Francis N.Y. (772,
387-385). Quinnipiac finished seventh with an 867 (433-434).
Quinnipiac is back in action on Thursday, April 7 when they travel
to East Meadow, N.Y. to compete in the Hofstra Quad Invitational at
Eisenhower Golf Course. Next weekend, Quinnipiac travels to
Barrington, R.I. to compete in the Brown University Tournament at
the Rhode Island Country Club on Sunday, April 10 and Monday, April
11.
