The Quinnipiac University women's golf team finished 11th out of 11 teams competing at the 2011 Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Senior Brianne Tansey (Nashua, N.H.) led all Quinnipiac golfers with a three-day total of 278 (+62).

The Quinnipiac University women's golf team currently sits in 11th place, out the 11 participating teams, at the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. The three-day event ended on the first day with Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart and St. Francis (Pa.) occupying the first three spots.Freshman Jennifer Forlenza Wayne, N.J.) was the Bobcats' top finisher on the NEC's first day.

Women's Golf Remains In 11th After Second Day of Northeast Conference Championship
Senior Brianne Tansey (Nashua, N.H.) shot a team-best 92 on the second day of the Northeast Conference Championships at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Tansey closed-out the day as the Bobcats' top finisher, while also carrying a team-best two-day total. Quinnipiac currently sits in 11th place out of the 11 teams that comprise the NEC Championship field.

Women's Golf To Compete In Northeast Conference Championship This Weekend
The Quinnipiac University women's golf team will compete in the first Northeast Conference Championship in program history when the Bobcats head to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the three-day tournament at LPGA International. The Bobcats hit the links on Thursday, April 21 at 9 a.m. for the first round of competition, with second and third round play on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23.

Brianna Tansey (Nashua, N.H.) shot a 46 through nine holes on a rain-shortened second day of Columbia University's Roar-EE Invitational at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y. Quinnipiac finished 13th out of the 13 teams at the event.

Women's Golf Finishes 13th At Brown University Invitational
The Quinnipiac women's golf team finished 13th out of the thirteen teams competing at the 2011 Brown University Spring Invitational at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, R.I. Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) turned in her two best rounds of the year, turning in a 96 in the first round on Sunday before finishing with a 91 on Monday.

Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) was the top finisher for the Quinnipiac women's golf team at the Hofstra Tri-Match at Eisenhower Golf Course in East Meadow, N.Y. Nagel finished seventh out of 15 golfers with a 97 (47-50), just 10 strokes off the leader.

The Quinnipiac University women's golf team finished seventh out of seven teams at the 2011 Monmouth University Hawk Invitational at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood, N.J. Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) paced the Bobcats with a two-day total of 198 (102-96).

Women's Golf Finishes 7th On Day One At Monmouth Invitational
The Quinnipiac women's golf team finished in 7th place on the first day of the Monmouth Invitational. Quinnipiac's lowest individual score of the season came from junior Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) who shot a 98 (+26). Hofstra and Long Island tied for first, with each team shooting combined team scores of 336 (+48). Monmouth finished second with a 339 (+51), while Wagner 347 (+59), Central Connecticut 371 (+83), St. Francis 387 (+99) and Quinnipiac 433 (+145) finished in that order.

Women's Golf's Brianna Tansey Finishes 9th At Inaugural Quinnipiac Bobcats Invitational
Quinnipiac women's golf senior Brianna Tansey (Nashua, N.H.) finished 9th at the Inaugural Quinnipiac Bobcats Invitational.Tansey shot a 100 (+28) to finished 9th among 19 golfers at the first event in Quinnipiac women's golf history. Sacred Heart won the event with a 349 (+61). St. Francis (N.Y.) was second at 383 (+95) followed by the Bobcats at 458 (+170).

The Quinnipiac University women's golf team was selected to finish 11th in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Feb. 18. The Bobcats open 2011, their inaugural season, under Quinnipiac Head Coach John O'Connor. O'Connor previously served as head coach of the men's golf team at Quinnipiac.

Quinnipiac Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald has announced that John O'Connor has been named as the University's first women's golf head coach. The women's golf team is entering its first year of competition as one of two sports added for the 2010-11 season, along with women's rugby.

Quinnipiac has recently announced the addition of women's golf as a varsity sport for the spring 2011 season. Those interested in being a part of the women's golf team should attend an informational meeting with Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald, Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Tracey Flynn, Senior Associate Director Billy Mecca and Assistat Athletic Director for Intramurals Mike Medina on Wednesday, September 22nd at 4:30 p.m. in the Athletics & Recreation Conference Room on the Second Floor of the Recreation Center.

Quinnipiac Athletics To Add Women's Golf In Spring 2011
Quinnipiac University has announced the expansion of their varsity athletic program to include women's golf for the 2010-11 season and women's rugby for the 2011-12 season. The addition of the two sports will give Quinnipiac 21 varsity teams by the beginning of the 2011-12 academic year.
