QU Women's Basketball Falls to No. 1 Notre Dame, 112-52
The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team dropped a 112-52 decision at No. 1 Notre Dame on the third and final day of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Challenge at Purcell Pavilion. The Bobcats registered a solid effort on Tuesday night throughout a large portion of the first half but could not overcome the talent of the nation’s No. 1 ranked squad on the other end.

The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team was ranked No. 16 in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major Poll, announced on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 by coaches on the select committee. This marks the second consecutive week in which Quinnipiac is ranked in the Top 25. The Bobcats are 3-2 overall, but have faced three schools ranked in the mid-major poll as well as the No. 1 nationally-ranked team Notre Dame.

Today, the Quinnipiac Bobcats continued their travels to the sinking city of Venice, the third destination of the trip. The team departed from Florence early this morning taking a three hour ride northeast to spend the day touring Venice. On the road again, the Bobcats began a journey to their next destination, Florence, Italy. The team stopped at a local pizzeria and enjoyed a full, four course meal of fresh salad, pasta, chicken and fruit. The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team (1-2) will travel to participate in the Saint Mary’s Concord Hilton Classic this weekend. Four teams will compete in the Thanksgiving tournament, including Saint Mary’s College of California, the University of Minnesota, and Virginia Tech. The Bobcats will play Minnesota on Friday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. (ET) and either Saint Mary’s or Virginia Tech on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. or 10 p.m. (ET), depending on the results of Friday's games.

Women's Basketball Ranked Sixth In NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team has been selected to finish sixth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The poll was announced by the league office on Thursday, Nov. 3 in its annual media teleconference. The Bobcats finished the 2010-11 season in seventh place in the NEC standings with an 11-7 record in conference play and a 14-16 overall record. Quinnipiac clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament for the 11th consecutive year.

The Quinnipiac University men’s and women’s basketball teams welcomed the Hoops For Heart Health organization to TD Bank Sports Center on Tuesday morning, a foundation founded by National Basketball Association (NBA) star, Ryan Gomes. Hoops For Heart Health is a not-for-profit association that was established to address the problem of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in high school, collegiate and professional sports. Quinnipiac’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are the first in NCAA Division I basketball to partake in the training session.

Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics Jack McDonald has announced that Women's Basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri has signed a contract extension through the 2015-16 season. Terms of the contract have not been disclosed. The Bobcats are coming off their 11th consecutive trip to the Northeast Conference Tournament in 2011. The Bobcats entered the 2010-11 post-season as the No. 7 seed and took on second-seeded Monmouth University in the NEC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Fabbri Picked To Participate In Mock NCAA Selection Exercise
Quinnipiac University Women’s Basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri has been picked to take part in the NCAA’s Division I Women’s Basketball Mock Selection Exercise, to be held this Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17, at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to the event, each of the 25 coaches selected to participate have been assigned teams and conferences to study up on. Over the course of the two days, the group will proceed through the selection process as the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Committee does each March.
