Quinnipiac Women’s Basketball Receiving Votes in Associated Press (AP) Poll

HAMDEN, Conn. – For the first time in program history, the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team received votes in the Associated Press (AP) Poll, announced on Monday, March 11, 2013. Quinnipiac has worked its way into the poll with the completion of a perfect regular season (18-0) in the NEC and making a historic run to 28-2 overall to match the program's best single-season record.

In the AP Poll, Baylor University remained atop the census for the 10th straight week. The Fighting Irish were tabbed second in the poll, followed by Connecticut, Stanford and Duke to round out the top five. California garnered the sixth spot and was trailed by Kentucky, Penn State, Texas A&M and Tennessee to close out the top 10.

Quinnipiac will continue their 2013 postseason on Wednesday night when they host Mount St. Mary's in the Semifinals of the NEC Tournament.  Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.
