Five Teams Recognized By NCAA For Strong APR Report Scores
Five Quinnipiac University athletic teams were recognized by the NCAA for strong Academic Progress Ratings (APR), as announced by members of the association on Friday, June 15, 2012. Women’s basketball once again represented the Bobcats for the fifth consecutive year, while women’s indoor track, women’s outdoor track, women’s cross country and women’s tennis, like last year, were also named to the list.

Women's Basketball Falls At Temple, 75-60, In WNIT First Round
The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team lost to Temple University, 75-60, in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Thursday night at McGonigle Hall. With the loss, the Bobcats end the 2011-12 season at 22-10, while the Owls improve to 22-9 and move on to the second round of the WNIT, where they will host Harvard University.

Women's Basketball Draws Temple In First Round Of WNIT; Bobcats Set For Thursday, March 15
The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team (22-9, 13-5 NEC) will make its second appearance in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. After finishing second in the regular season, the Bobcats have earned an automatic berth into the WNIT and will travel to play Temple University (21-9, 13-1 A-10) on Thursday, March 15 at a time to be determined on Tuesday.

Sophomore Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.) and freshman Jasmine Martin (Sicklerville, N.J.) each scored 20 points on Tuesday evening, but the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team's second half rally came up just short in the Northeast Conference Tournament Semifinals to No. 3 Monmouth University, 69-66, at the TD Bank Sports Center. With their 22 wins on the season, the Bobcats now wait for a potential bid to a national postseason tournament next week.

Junior Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.) reached the 1,000-point mark as she registered a game-high 15 points to lift the second-seeded Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team past No. 7 Mount St. Mary’s, 65-61, in a Northeast Quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 22-8 on the year, while the Mountaineers end their season at 14-16 overall. Quinnipiac will host a NEC Semifinals contest on Tuesday, March 6.

Freshman Jasmine Martin (Sicklerville, N.J.) and junior Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.) combined for 28 points on Monday night, but the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team was upended by Saint Francis (Pa.), 77-71, at the TD Bank Sports Center. Needing a win and a Sacred Heart loss to clinch the NEC's No. 1 seed, QU's furious comeback bid fell just short, leaving the Bobcats with the No. 2 seed in the upcoming tournament.

The Bobcats will honor their two seniors, Kari Goodchild and Jacinda Dunbar, prior to tip-off on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 21-7 overall and 13-3 in the Northeast Conference, while the visiting Terriers fall to 3-24, 2-14 in league competition.

Sophomore Brittany McQuain collected a double-double with a team-high 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Bobcats improved to 20-6 overall and 12-3 in NEC action. Three Bobcats registered double-figures in the scoring column on Wednesday night, as the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team defeated Central Connecticut State, 58-49, at the TD Bank Sports Center. QU’s defense was the driving force behind the victory, holding the visiting Blue Devils to 34.5 percent shooting en route to its eighth win over its last nine games. With the triumph, the Bobcats improve to 19-6 overall and 11-3 in the Northeast Conference.

The Northeast Conference's top two teams will hit the hardwood for the second game of the regular-season season series when Quinnipiac, currently in second place in the league standings at 5-2, faces first-place Sacred Heart on the Pioneers' home court on Monday, Jan. 23. The backend of the two-game set will take place at the William H. Pitt Center, slated for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The Bobcats are looking for their fourth straight victory, as they've won four of their last five times on the court. In addition, Quinnipiac has won nine straight road games - its longest streak at the Division I level and the most since the 1983-84 season when Quinnipiac won 13-straight road games.

The Bobcats tallied 20 steals, the most since Quinnipiac compiled 21 steals at Sacred Heart on February 25, 2006.

Women's Basketball Ranked Sixth In NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team has been selected to finish sixth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The poll was announced by the league office on Thursday, Nov. 3 in its annual media teleconference. The Bobcats finished the 2010-11 season in seventh place in the NEC standings with an 11-7 record in conference play and a 14-16 overall record. Quinnipiac clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament for the 11th consecutive year.

Men's And Women's Basketball Hosts Hoops For Heart Health Clinic
The Quinnipiac University men’s and women’s basketball teams welcomed the Hoops For Heart Health organization to TD Bank Sports Center on Tuesday morning, a foundation founded by National Basketball Association (NBA) star, Ryan Gomes. Hoops For Heart Health is a not-for-profit association that was established to address the problem of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in high school, collegiate and professional sports. Quinnipiac’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are the first in NCAA Division I basketball to partake in the training session.
