HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team visited the Barnard Environmental Studies School and Katherine Brennan School in New Haven, Conn. on Jan. 12.
Members of the Quinnipiac squad split into two groups and visited the local elementary/middle schools on Thursday morning where they spoke to students about the importance of education, good exercising and eating habits, as well as pursuing their dreams through hard work and a positive attitude.
“We enjoy returning to the different schools in New Haven at this time every year,” said head coach Tricia Fabbri. “It’s been an extremely rewarding partnership for our coaches and student-athletes to share with the boys and girls their own personal goals in the classroom and on the court, in addition to the work ethic and positive attitudes needed to achieve them.”
The QU student-athletes also spoke about their experiences as a Division-I student athlete and shared their individual stories about their journey to Quinnipiac and what their goals are beyond graduating and playing for the Bobcats.
Quinnipiac returns to the hardwood on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they travel to Smithfield, R.I. for a conference showdown against Bryant. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Chace Athletic Center.
