Bobcats Take On Wagner
The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team (14-5, 6-2) hosts Northeast Conference opponent Wagner College (2-17, 1-7 NEC) on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Noon at the TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats return home after winning four consecutive league games on the road. Most recently, Quinnipiac defeated first-place Sacred Heart, 71-34, while the Seahawks lost to LIU Brooklyn, 67-60, on Monday night.

Scouting Wagner
The Seahawks enter Saturday at 2-17 overall and are tied at 11^th in the standings with St. Francis (N.Y.) at 1-7 in conference play. Wagner has picked up wins against Columbia, 66-54, and NEC foe St. Francis (N.Y.), 49-45, earlier this season. Kelly Clark leads the Seahawks with 7.9 rebounds per game and ranks eighth amongst NEC opponents with an average of 14.1 points per outing. Clark also ranks third in the league with a .500 field goal percentage (100-of-200). Marie Archambault ranks second on the team in scoring (7.1 ppg), while she leads all Seahawks with a .310 shooting percentage (31-of-100) from three-point range.

All-Time Against The Seahawks
Saturday marks the 27^th meeting between Quinnipiac and Wagner, with the Bobcats leading the all-time series, 20-6. QU also leads the series at home, 10-2, and on the road, 10-4. The Bobcats have played the Seahawks in an overtime win once, during the 2001-02 season. Both teams have also met once in the NEC Tournament, with Wagner winning, 80-62, at its home court in 1999. Last season, the Bobcats swept their two-game series with the Seahawks.

Last Time Out
In itsmost recent outing, Quinnipiac handed first-place Sacred Heart its first NEC loss of the season and at home, 71-34. The Bobcats were led by junior Felicia Barron who matched a career-high 26 points, while sophomore Brittany McQuain pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Showdown At Sacred Heart
The Bobcats' 37-point victory against Sacred Heart was their first win at the Pitt Center since the 2000-01 season. Additionally, Quinnipiac's defense held the Pioneers to their lowest point total of the season, and the second fewest since SHU joined the Division I ranks for the 1999-2000 season.

Defense Runs Deep
Quinnipiac saw 12 different Bobcats score in each of its last two outings. Last week, QU’s bench helped the Bobcats defeat each of their NEC opponents by 37 points.  The Bobcats also held Sacred Heart and Bryant to less than 50 points and under a .300 field-goal percentage. SHU managed 34 points and shot 22 percent from the floor, while the Bulldogs compiled 47 points and a 27.1 shooting percentage.

The Right Choice
Felicia Barron won her second Choice Hotels/NEC Player of the Week award of her junior campaign after leading the conference with an average of 18 ppg in the Bobcats’ two road victories last week. Barron earns back-to-back weekly honors as she helped QU win four consecutive league match-ups.

NCAA RPI Rankings
As of Monday, Jan. 23, the Bobcats ranked 58th in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball RPI Rankings. The Bobcats previously ranked 80th in the poll.

Sensational Scoring
The Bobcats continue to dominate the Northeast Conference in scoring with an average of 68.6 points per game. QU is led by guard Felicia Barron, who ranks second in the league and in the top-60 of the national rankings with 17.5 ppg. Jasmine Martin (11.2 ppg) and Brittany McQuain (10.3 ppg), the Bobcats second and third leading scorers, also rank in the top 25 of the NEC in scoring.

Bobcats On The Boards
Quinnipiac remains the NEC’s leading team in rebounding with 43.4 boards per outing. The Bobcats collected 50 or more rebounds in back-to-back outings. Sophomore Brittany McQuain leads the Bobcats’ rebounding efforts with 9.7 rpg, which also ranks third amongst NEC opponents and in the top-40 of the national standings.

Stealing Streaks
QU’s Felicia Barron continues to rule the nation in steals per game (4.5). Felicia has led the Bobcats’ efforts in steals as they currently rank second in the league with 10.5 steals per game. Barron's career-high 12-steal performance against Bryant also is tied at first in the national standings for individual game-highs.

NEC Notes
The Bobcats currently lead the league with a +3.4 turnover margin, while Quinnipiac’s assist/turnover ratio (0.9) ranks first with Sacred Heart amongst the conference competition.

Fierce From The Line
Freshman Jasmine Martin leads the Bobcats from the charity stripe as she’s finished 48-of-61 free-throw attempts in her rookie campaign. Martin’s 78.7 free-throw percentage ranks fifth in the NEC.

Road Warriors
Quinnipiac has won 10-consecutive games on the road this season, posting a 9-1 away record, also winning one neutral game against Minnesota earlier in the season, making it QU’s longest streak at the Division I level and the most since the 1983-84 season when Quinnipiac won 13-straight road games.

A Look At The League Standings
Midway through the NEC season, the Bobcats find themselves tied for second place with a 6-2 league record.  Monmouth also stands in second, while the Sacred Heart Pioneers are at first in the standings at 7-1. Six clubs are currently ranked fourth at 4-4 in NEC play.

The Bobcats Battle Bryant
Twelve Bobcats finished in the scoring column on Jan. 21 as QU cruised past Bryant, 84-47, at the Chace Athletic Center. The Bobcats' final scoring margin of 37 points was the team's highest this season, before QU won by 37 against SHU. Quinnipiac outshot Bryant from all areas on the court and out-rebounded the NEC-foe, 53-to-37. QU posted a 45.8 field-goal percentage (27-for-59), while shooting a season-high 88.9 percent from the line (24-for-27).

The Best This Season
The Bobcats finished with over 80 points in each of its last three contests, prior to playing Sacred Heart. The Bobcats' 85-point victory at SFU stands as the highest point total this season, while QU also combined for a season-best 60.8 field-goal percentage (31-for-51) against the Red Flash on Jan. 14. The 60.8 shooting percentage stands as the second time the Bobcats have shot above the 50 percent mark this year, while it ranks 24th in the Division-I standings.

Honored By The NEC
Felicia Barron was named the Choice Hotels NEC Co-Player of the Week, while freshman Jasmine Martin received her second Rookie of the Week accolade, announced on Tuesday, Jan 17. Barron was the team's leading scorer against RMU and Saint Francis (Pa.), averaging 25.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Martin led all league freshmen with an average of 15.5 points per game, while shooting 55 percent as she went 11-for-20 from the floor.

Brittany McQuain Picks Up Weekly Award
Quinnipiac's Brittany McQuain was named College Sports Madness NEC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 23 after leading the Bobcats to three straight wins on the road last week.

Success From Three-Point Range
Quinnipiac compiled a season-best 10 three-pointers at SFU as they shot a season-high 71.4 percent from three-point range, which currently ranks first in the national standings.

What’s Ahead For The Bobcats
QU hosts Mount St. Mary’s on Monday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. before playing three straight games on the road to kick off the month of February. The Bobcats first travel to Monmouth on Saturday Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. prior to playing at Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 6 and Central Connecticut State on the 14^th.
