Four-Game Road Trip
The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team
(10-5, 2-2 NEC) opens a four-game road trip when it plays Saint
Francis (Pa.) (6-9, 3-1 NEC) in a Northeast Conference match-up on
Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. at DeGol Arena in Loretto, Pa.

Scouting Saint Francis
(Pa.)
The Red Flash enter Saturday’s game at 6-9 overall
and 3-1 in league action. Saint Francis (Pa.) picked up NEC wins
against Fairleigh Dickinson, 69-56, and Monmouth, 82-69, earlier in
the season. Most recently, the Red Flash split a pair of conference
games on the road as they lost to Bryant, 57-52, and defeated
Central Connecticut State, 57-47, last weekend. Sophomore forward
Alli Williams, who has earned Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week
twice this season, currently leads the team with 17 points and 9.3
rebounds per game, while junior guard Nickia Gibbs ranks second
with 12.2 points and 5.4 boards per contest. Williams’ 17 ppg
ranks third amongst NEC opponents, while her 9.3 rpg stands at
fifth in the league. In addition, Williams posts a team-high 47.2
field-goal percentage, which also ranks seventh in the conference.
Overall, the Red Flash average 62.2 points per game and 39.8
rebounds per game.
All-Time Against The Red
Flash
Saturday’s contest marks the 24th meeting
between Quinnipiac and Saint Francis (Pa.) with the Red Flash
leading the all-time series, 17-6. In their most recent meeting,
the Bobcats lost, 77-64, on Jan. 31, 2011 in Hamden, Conn. Overall,
QU is 2-1 at the TD Bank Sports Center, but 4-8 in Loretto, Pa.
Last Time Out
In their most recent outing, the Bobcats were outlasted in
a 74-64 loss to NEC foe LIU Brooklyn at home. Quinnipiac junior
Felicia Barron registered a team-high 17 points, while sophomore
Brittany McQuain collected her eighth double-double of the year
with 13 points and 13 rebounds and senior Kari Goodchild scored 12
points. LIU forward Ashley palmer compiled a game-high 30 points on
the night.
Keep It Up Camryn
After only collecting 36 points in her freshman campaign,
sophomore Camryn Warner looks to compile her 100th point
of the season against the Red Flash as she’s registered 98
points so far into the 2011-12 season.
Taking Down The Terriers
In their most recent outing, junior Felicia Barron matched
a career-high 25 points to lead the Bobcats to a 59-43 NEC victory
at St. Francis (N.Y.) on Saturday, Jan. 7. Freshman Jasmine Martin
also recorded double figures with 13 points, while sophomore Camryn
Warner pulled down a game-high six rebounds. Quinnipiac outscored
the Terriers from the floor as they shot 36 percent (18-for-50),
while out-rebounding St. Francis (N.Y.), 36-to-28. The Bobcats
scored 28 points off 33 turnovers in the league contest.
100 Wins On The Road
Quinnipiac Women’s Basketball Head Coach Tricia
Fabbri earned her 100th road-win as her picked up a
conference win at St. Francis (N.Y.) at the Pope Physical Education
Center in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y.
The Last Time Since…
The Bobcats held the Terriers to under fifty points (43)
on Saturday, which is the first time since QU held Delaware to 41
points during the 2008-09 season.
Stealing Streaks
QU collected a season-high 18 steals in its victory over
St. Francis (N.Y.) on Jan. 7.
Charity Stripe Stats
The Bobcats shot a season-best 81.5 (22-of-27) percent
from the free-throw line against the Terriers on Saturday
afternoon.
Scoring Margin Magic
Quinnipiac posted a season-high final scoring margin of
+16 after defeating St. Francis (N.Y.), 59-43. The Bobcats
currently average a scoring margin of +1.8.
Guastella’s Great
Game
Freshman Samantha Guastella registered a career-high 16
points and matched a career-high eight boards in the Bobcats’
loss against St. Joseph’s.
Still At The Top In Steals
Junior Felicia Barron continues to lead the nation,
league and team in steals with 78 on the year and 5.2 steals per
game. Barron’s 12-steal performance against Bryant also ranks
first in the national standings for individual game-highs.
The Scoring Situation
QU currently ranks second in scoring amongst NEC schools
with 65.4 points per game. Three Bobcats also stand in the
league’s top-20 in scoring. Felicia Barron leads the Bobcats
and ranks 4th with 16.5 points per game, while freshman
Jasmine Martin is 17th with 10.9 ppg and sophomore
Brittany McQuain is 19th with 10.6 points per
contest.
Dominating Double-Doubles
Sophomore Brittany McQuain ranks in the top-20 in the
national standings with eight double-doubles on the year. The
sophomore has combined for 15 career double-doubles.
She Shoots, She Scores
Barron is the only Bobcat to have reached the 200-point
mark with 247 total points this season. Barron’s 16.4 ppg
leads QU and ranks in the top-100 for scoring in the national
rankings.
Ranking In Rebounds
Forward Brittany McQuain leads the team and ranks third in
league play with 9.8 rebounds per game, which also stands in the
top-50 of the national leader board. Barron’s 3.67 offensive
rebounds per contest and 6.13 defensive boards per outing are third
in the NEC. The 5-11 sophomore has collected 147 boards this
year.
The Bobcats Can Block
Sophomore forward Camryn Warner ranks fourth in the
conference standings in blocks per game (1.4) with 21 total on the
year.
Featured Freshman
Freshman Jasmine Martin leads the Bobcats and ranks fifth
in the NEC with a 79.6 free-throw shooting percentage (43-of-54).
Martin currently ranks second on the team in points per game (10.9)
and is one of three Bobcats to have reached the 100-point scoring
mark with 164 points in her rookie campaign.
Felicia From Three-Point
Range
Felicia Barron is fourth in the conference rankings in
three-point field goals made as she averages 1.8 three-pointers per
game. The 5-7 guard leads the Bobcats with a total of 27
three-pointers this season, while her 32.9 three-point shooting
percentage ranks 11th in the NEC.
NCAA RPI Rankings
As of Sunday, Jan. 8, the Bobcats ranked 78th
in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball RPI Rankings,
behind only one NEC opponent in LIU Brooklyn (76th). The
Bobcats also stood in 48th with a turnover margin of
+3.79. Since then, QU has improved its turnover margin to +3.9.
Bobcats On The Boards
QU continues to dominate league action in rebounds as it
ranks second in rebounds per game (42.5) and on both sides of the
court with 15.47 offensive rpg and 27 defensive rpg.
QU Steals The Show
The Bobcats currently rank second amongst league opponents
in steals per game (10.73), led by Felicia Barron’s efforts
of 5.2 steals per contest.
Turning It Around
Quinnipiac leads the league with a +3.87 turnover margin
and ranks second with a 0.84 assist/turnover margin.
The Bobcats Win
When…
Quinnipiac has earned each of its 10 wins this season when
holding its opponents to 69 points or less. The Bobcats have also
gone 5-0 when leading at halftime and 7-0 when shooting better than

Quinnipiac continues NEC play on the road when it plays
Robert Morris on Monday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will then
travel to Bryant on Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. and Sacred Heart on Jan. 23
at 7 p.m.
