Omni Rankings Place Quinnipiac Women's Basketball As The No. 2 Team On The Rise
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team
is currently ranked second among the top Division I "Teams On The
Rise", as announced by the Omni Rankings.
Omni Rankings is a free, independent fan site that uses a
mathematical formula to determine which teams are among the top 25,
top 25 mid-majors, and "teams on the rise" in collegiate
basketball.
"As a staff, going into the season we knew we had talented players,
but not a team identity," said Quinnipiac Head Coach Tricia
Fabbri. "Our difficult non conference schedule quickly exposed
areas of strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to make tremendous
strides as a team in practice every day. Our current success is a
result of good players learning to play together and trust one
another with the single goal of becoming the best team it can be.
We truly understand there is more work to be done in achieving this
goal."
The Bobcats were ranked second among the top 25 "Teams On The Rise"
after their 77-62 win at Wagner College. Quinnipiac has won
four-straight Northeast Conference match-ups this season and is
currently in a three-way tie with Robert Morris and Saint Francis
(Pa.) for first place with a 7-1 mark in NEC play.
The Bobcats will host Robert Morris on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 12:00
p.m. and Saint Francis (Pa.) on Monday, Jan. 31 at 7:00 p.m. Both
games will be held at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.
