Courtney Kaminski Named Choice Hotels NEC Player Of The Week
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University women's basketball senior Courtney
Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) was named the
Choice
Hotels Northeast Conference Player of the Week after
leading the Bobcats to wins against Central Connecticut State and
Bryant this past week. Kaminski was selected to the Preseason
All-Northeast Conference team earlier in the season.
For the week, the senior averaged 26.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0
blocks. Kaminski made two outstanding appearances against CCSU and
Bryant, shooting 64.3 percent from the floor on 18-of-28 shooting,
and 87.5 percent (14-16) from the line. Kaminski also converted on
both of her three-point attempts.
She scored a career-breaking 32 points in 28 minutes against
Central Connecticut in a 75-74 win on Saturday, Jan. 15. Kaminski's
32 points were the most in a single game in the NEC this season.
The center also posted eight rebounds in the one-point victory.
In the Bobcats' 85-74 win against Bryant, Kaminski recorded her
third 20-point game of the season, as she picked up 21 the Bobcats'
fifth NEC win of the season. In addition, Kaminski compiled six
rebounds, three blocks and two assists in the conference
match-up.
Courtney was named the NEC's Player of the Week last season for the
week of March 1, 2010. She also earned the conference's Rookie of
the Week title in the 2006-2007 season.
The Bobcats look for their third-straight conference win as they
travel to play Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 3:00 p.m.
at the Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, Md. and Wagner on Monday, Jan. 24
at 7:00 p.m. at the Spiro Sports Center in Staten Island, N.Y.
