The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team takes on
the University of New Hampshire Wildcats in a non-conference
match-up on Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 5:00 p.m. at the Lundholm
Gymnasium in Durham, N.H. The Bobcats are coming off a 74-68 loss
to Yale on Monday, while the Wildcats fell to Central Connecticut
State, 61-48, on Sunday afternoon in New Britain, Conn. Quinnipiac
is currently 3-6 on the year and 1-0 in the Northeast Conference,
while New Hampshire is 1-7 overall.

New Hampshire currently holds a 1-7 record this season.
The Wildcats' only win thus far was against Dartmouth on Nov. 19.
New Hampshire won, 65-52, on its home territory. The Wildcats shot
over 50 percent from the floor and outrebounded Dartmouth, 38-28,
in the victory. Center Jill McDonald collected a double-double
against the Ivy League opponent, recording 15 points and 13
rebounds. New Hampshire has fallen short to Notre Dame, Brown, Holy
Cross, Syracuse, Manhattan, Harvard, and Central Connecticut State
this season. In their most recent outing, the Wildcats fell to
Central Connecticut State of the NEC, 61-48. Overall, New Hampshire
averages 33.4 rebounds per game and 11.6 assists per game, while it
currently has a 38.9 field goal percentage. Junior forward Denise
Beliveau leads the Wildcats, averaging 11.3 points and 6.0 rebounds
per game this season. McDonald, a senior center, has 46 rebounds on
the year and averages 6.9 points per game.

Quinnipiac holds an
all-time record of 3-0 with New Hampshire at the Division I level.
The Bobcats have defeated the Wildcats twice in Hamden, Conn. and
once in Durham, N.H. In its most recent meeting with New Hampshire,
Quinnipiac won, 68-54, on Nov. 29, 2009 in a game held at the TD

Barron scored a team-high 14 points in the win, while Jacinda
Dunbar compiled 12 points. The Bobcats also beat the Wildcats
back in the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Quinnipiac defeated UNH, 68-65,
on Nov. 22, 2004 and, 82-76, on Dec. 3, 3003.
Last Time Out
The Bobcats fell short on Monday night, as it lost, 74-68, to
in-state rival Yale University. The Bobcats played a great first
half and led by two points, 35-33, after the first twenty minutes
of play. Despite the loss, Quinnipiac outshot Yale, shooting 37.2
percent from the field, and outrebounded the Ivy League team,
42-36.

Kaminski, each scored 16 points at Yale. In addition, Barron
collected three rebounds, five assists and a steal, while Kaminski
recorded five rebounds and an assist in the defeat.

Dunbar came close to earning her first double-double of the
season as she scored nine points and pulled-down 10 rebounds
against Yale. The junior forward added two assists and a steal in
the loss.

Barron continues to lead the Quinnipiac offense, averaging 12.6
points and 4.1 assists per game. Barron is currently ranked
10th in the NEC with a 12.6 points per game average.
Barron also ranks in the top-15 of the conference with a .407 field

McQuain has remained at the top of Quinnipiac's defense,
averaging 4.8 defensive rebounds per game. McQuain ranks in the
top-20 of the NEC, pulling down 5.9 rebounds per game overall.

of the NEC for most three-point field goals made. Barron has
tallied 15 three-pointers this season, while Jann has finished 14

The Basketball Court
Quinnipiac beat the Army Black Knights, 69-65, on
Saturday. Dec. 11 in a game held at the TD Bank Sports Center. In
their third-straight win of the season, the Bobcats shot 38.3
percent from the floor and 80.8 percent from the line, while both
teams collected 35 rebounds. Quinnipiac ended the half with a 10
point lead, 42-32. The Bobcats continued to stay ahead, later
increasing their lead by 12 points down the stretch. The Black
Knights came back within two points, but Quinnipiac was able to add
another two points by Felicia
Barron to end the game, ahead by four points, 69-65.
Top Players Against Army
Jacki
Mann recorded both game and career highs, as she scored 18
points in the victory against Army. In addition, the junior forward
collected a team-high seven rebounds and an assist, a block, and a
steal. Felicia
Barron tallied 17 points, three assists, three rebounds, and
three steals against Army.
A Nice Start
In NEC Play
The Bobcats won their first NEC game of the year against
Wagner, 85-72, at the TD Bank Sports Center on Saturday, Dec. 4.
Quinnipiac shot a season-high 46.6 percent from the floor and 83.3
percent from the line. The Bobcats scored 21 points off of 13
Wagner turnovers and outrebounded the Seahawks, 45-32. Four
Quinnipiac players scored in double figures, including Alyssa Jann

Jann was 3-4 from the floor and from behind the arc against the
Seahawks. The forward pulled together 11 points, four rebounds, and
a steal in the game. Jann has made 12 three-pointers this season
and averages 7.1 points per game.

McQuain led the Bobcats' defensive with five defensive
rebounds, six in total, versus Wagner. The freshman added 10 points
and two assists in the match.
First Win Of
The Season
Quinnipiac earned its first win of the season against the
University of Vermont on Wednesday, Dec. 1. The Bobcats beat the
Catamounts, 76-67, in a game played at the TD Bank Sports Center.
Quinnipiac closed the first half with a 14-2 run, turning a
seven-point deficit into a five-point lead at the half, 38-33. The
Bobcats then opened the second half with a 17-2 run to push their
lead to 20 points, 55-35. Quinnipiac led by as many 23 points in

Vermont, including Felicia

Versus Vermont
Felicia
Barron matched her career-high 17 points against Vermont. The
sophomore guard previously scored 17 points against Vermont back in
the 2008-09 season. Barron added five assists, two rebounds and two
steals in the win. Kari
Goodchild scored a career-high 15 points versus Vermont. She
also made five rebounds and four assists. Junior forward Jacinda
Dunbar scored seven points and added a season-high seven
rebounds against Vermont. McQuain pulled down nine rebounds versus
Vermont and collected 10 points, three steals, one assist, and one
block in the match.
Vanderbilt
Thanksgiving Tourney
The Bobcats played in the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving
Tournament in late November. In its first game of the tournament,
Quinnipiac lost to nationally-ranked Vanderbilt, 111-53. Alyssa
Jann scored 14 points and pulled down a rebound and an assist,
while Felicia
Barron, an All-Tournament selectee, scored eight points in the
loss.
California
Dreaming
Quinnipiac lost, 78-59, to Southern California, in its
second game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 28.
Tied, 35-35, at halftime, the Bobcats were unable to come back in
the second half. Overall, the team shot 35.2 percent from the floor
and 71.4 percent from the line. Felicia
Barron scored 11 points and added six assists and four rebounds

Bonaventure
Quinnipiac fell to
St. Bonaventure, 66-47, in a contest held at the Reilly Center on
Nov. 21. The Bobcats were led by Felicia
Barron as she scored 14 points and made four assists. Alyssa
Jann pulled down a team-high six rebounds out of the team's
33.
Holy
Cross At Home
The Bobcats lost, 72-60, in its home-opener against Holy Cross on
Wednesday, Nov. 17. at the TD Bank Sports Center. The team recorded
a 66.7 free-throw percentage and was .329 from the floor in the
defeat. In the first twenty minutes of play, the score was tied
four times, while the lead changed three times. Despite the loss,
the Bobcats were able to hold the Crusaders to only a two-point
lead in the first half.
Kaminski Scores 1,000th Point
Senior center Courtney
Kaminski became the 17th Quinnipiac women's basketball player
to score 1,000 points, as she scored 10 points in Wednesday's game
against Holy Cross. The senior also made five rebounds in the
contest, after missing the Bobcats' first game of the season.
Leading Ladies At Home
Felicia
Barron led the Bobcats with 14 points, a team-high four assists
and two steals against Holy Cross. Kari
Goodchild pulled down a team-high seven assists and scored six
points, while Jacinda
Dunbar led Quinnipiac with two blocks versus Holy Cross, also
recording 11 points and six rebounds in the game. In addition, Jacki
Mann was the only player to make every field goal attempt (6).
The junior forward scored 12 points, tallied one assist and pulled
down four rebounds overall.
The Bobcats lost, 65-48, in their season-opener on Friday, Nov. 12 at Fairfield University. Overall, Quinnipiac was .455 from the free throw line and had a .340 field goal percentage in the contest. The team was led by freshman forward Brittany McQuain and junior transfer Kari Goodchild. Both Quinnipiac newcomers scored nine points, while McQuain also recorded seven rebounds.
Preseason Picks
Quinnipiac was selected to finish sixth out of 12 teams in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bobcats finished the 2009-10 season in eighth place in the NEC standings with a 7-11 record in conference play and a 12-18 overall record. Senior center Courtney Kaminski was selected to the Preseason All-NEC team. 2010 NEC Tournament finalist Long Island was the Preseason favorite, clinching the first place choice with six first-place votes.
Down the Road in December
Quinnipiac will participate in the St. Joseph's Tournament after the holiday weekend. The Bobcats will play Lafayette on Dec. 28 at 4:00 p.m. and either St. Joseph's or New Hampshire on Dec. 29 at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be played at the Michael J. Hagan Arena in Philadelphia, Pa.
