The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team plays

Sports Center. The Bobcats and Black Bears will tip off from Lender
Court at noon just two days after one of the most exciting games in
Quinnipiac's program history. In the team's last game, the Bobcats

Thursday night. The loss dropped Quinnipiac's record to 2-5 this
season and 1-2 on its home floor.

Sooooo Close
A three-point field goal by redshirt senior Kathleen
Neyens (Jaffrey, N.H.) left the Bobcats one-point shy of sending
the game to overtime against No. 17 Vanderbilt. After Quinnipiac
pushed the ball up court, Neyens received the pass at the right
point and put a shot off glass with a defender making contact as
time expired allowing the Commodores to hold on for the one-point
win, 75-74.
Doubling Up
Redshirt junior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) finished
with her first double-double of the season Thursday night against
Vanderbilt. Kaminski scored 12 points and pulled down a career-high
12 boards in the loss. Prior to Thursday, her previous career high
had been 10 rebounds, which she has recorded on four occasions.
New Highs
Redshirt freshman Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.)
recorded new career highs in both rebounds and assists in the loss
to the Commodores. Barron dished out a career-best seven assists,
while also pulling down seven boards in the game. In both cases,
the seven assists and rebounds were one more than her previous
highs.
Second to None
Sophomore Jacinda Dunbar (Edison, N.J.) was second on the
team in scoring with 14 points Thursday night. She shot just under
her average of .511 from the floor coming into the game, finishing
the game 5-of-11 from the field.
Four-of-Five
Four of the five Quinnipiac starters finished in
double-digit scoring against Vanderbilt. Neyens led with 15 points,
while Dunbar added 14 and Kaminski (12) and Barron (13) each
reached the double-figure plateau. Jacki Mann (Rutherford, N.J.)
was the only player not to reach the mark, fouling out in the early
minutes of the second half.
Block Party
Mann may not have scored a point, but her presence was
felt on the defensive end of the court. Mann sent back three
Vanderbilt shots in the game. Her season-high three blocks helped
Quinnipiac build and maintain a large lead in the first half
heading into halftime.
Bench Points
Quinnipiac's bench was outscored, 28-20, by the
Commodores. The Bobcats' reserves shot 6-of-9 from the floor in the
game, including hitting 4-of-5 from long range. Alyssa Jann
(Westford, Mass.) and Lisa Lebak (Robbinsville, N.J.) each
connected on all their threes in the game. Jann hit on her only
attempt from long range, while Lebak was 2-for-2 from behind the
arc. Ryann Simmons (Norwalk, Conn.) was 1-of-2 from three on her
way to seven points in the game.
