Rooney was tabbed as the NEC's Defensive Player of the Year, while Kerner was named to the All-NEC First Team. Rooney received the honor as the league's top defender for the second-consecutive season, while Kerner earns First-Team honors for the second-straight year as well. Kerner has been recognized by the league each of her four years with the Bobcats after being selected as a member of the Second Team her freshman and sophomore seasons as well as being honored as the Rookie of the Year in 2005-06.</description>

Quinnipiac, Monmouth and Saint Francis (Pa.) all finished tied for third in the conference standings with 11-7 NEC records, but due to the unbalanced schedule, the Red Flash earned the No. 3 seed and a first-round game with No. 6 Robert Morris. The top seed and tournament hosts from Sacred Heart take on Mount St. Mary's in the first game on Saturday. Central Connecticut and Fairleigh Dickinson will play in the third game with the Blue Devils as the tournaments' No. 2 seed and the Knights finishing seventh in the conference standings.</description>

Sharing the award with Jennifer Bender of Monmouth last week, the senior guard shares it with Mount St. Mary's Brianna Gauthier this week. Kerner averaged 23.5 points per game over the Bobcats' two wins this weekend against Central Connecticut and Wagner. She ends the regular season third in the conference in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game.</description>
