Jordan Paolucci Named to 2013 NFCA All-Region Team
Sophomore catcher Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) of the Quinnipiac University softball team has been recognized with 2013 NFCA Division I Second Team honors, as voted on by coaches around the Northeast Region. It’s Paolucci’s second end-of-the-season accolade after taking home All-Northeast Conference laurels as well.

Northeast Conference Recognizes Softball's Jordan Paolucci and Nikki Barba With All-NEC Honors
A pair of members of the Quinnipiac softball team in sophomores Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Nikki Barba (San Diego, Calif.) were honored by the Northeast Conference with All-NEC accolades following their 2013 seasons. Paolucci earned a spot on the All-NEC First Team as a catcher for the second time in her career while Barba took home an All-NEC Second Team honor at second base.

Courtney Solt Earns Third NEC Rookie of the Week Honor
For the third time this season, Quinnipiac softball freshman Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) takes home the NEC Rookie of the Week honors. Solt finished an impressive week that saw her tally 10 hits in six games to become the program's single-season hits record holder. She becomes just the second Bobcat ever to win three NEC Rookie of the Week titles as she joins Krista Seeman who accomplished the feat back in 2007.

Softball's 2013 Season Ends With Split of St. Francis U; Courtney Solt Becomes QU's Single-Season Hits Record Holder
Needing just two hits to become the program's all-time single-season record holder, freshman Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) did just that in Quinnipiac softball's final games of the 2013 season, earning a split with St. Francis U. The Red Flash took game one 4-3 while the Bobcats capped the season on w inning note earning a 2-0 victory in game two. Quinnipiac finishes the 2013 season at 17-35 and 9-11 in the NEC while St. Francis U ends their season at 25-30 (6-14 NEC).

Softball Falls Twice to Robert Morris; Courtney Solt Nears Single-Season Hits Record
The Bobcats and Colonials were locked in a pair of tightly contested battles but Robert Morris was too much for the Quinnipiac softball team as they fell twice, 1-0 and 8-6, in a pair of NEC Conference games from North Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon. With the loss in game one, the Bobcats fell out of playoff contention and will finish their 2013 season tomorrow with a pair of games against St. Francis U. Quinnipiac's record drops to 16-34 (8-10 NEC) while Robert Morris clinches a spot in the NEC Tournament as they improve to 28-15-1 (14-4 NEC).

Softball Earns Split Against Manhattan in Home Finale; Alex Alba and Jordan Paolucci Each Break QU Milestones
It was a historic afternoon for the Quinnipiac softball team as senior Alex Alba (Sylmar, Calif.) became the program’s all-time doubles leader while sophomore Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) broke Quinnipiac's single-season RBI record, helping the Bobcats earn a split of Manhattan with a 6-0 win and 6-5 loss in eight innings from QU Softball Field on Thursday. With both needing one each for their respective team records, Alba and Paolucci didn't wait long as they both moved into first place in their first at-bats of the afternoon. The Bobcats move to 16-32 on the season while Manhattan closes out their 2013 campaign with a 21-25 record.

Softball Swept by Central Conn. St. in Sunday Doubleheader; Four Bobcats Honored on Senior Day
The careers of four illustrious senior members of the Quinnipiac softball team were honored before the start of Sunday's doubleheader against Central Conn. St. but the Bobcats couldn’t come away victorious on the day, falling 8-0 and 10-2, both ending in five innings. The senior class of shortstop Alex Alba (Sylmar, Calif.), third baseman Bridget Figmic (Stratford, Conn.), first baseman Kortney Kesses (Woodbridge, Conn.) and center fielder Lauren Salgado (Covina, Calif.) were all honored beforehand for their individual efforts and contributions to the team’s success through the past four year. Quinnipiac's two losses drop them to 15-31 (8-8 NEC) while the Blue Devils improve to 30-13 (16-4 NEC).

Softball Drops Pair in NEC Matchup Against Bryant; Alex Alba Now Second All-Time in Career Hits
The Quinnipiac softball team was victimized by some late-inning magic early from the Bryant Bulldogs as they fell twice on Saturday, 9-8 and 8-0 (five innings), from Conaty Park. Senior Alex Alba's (Sylmar, Calif.) two hits on the day made some history as she moved past Beth Luizzi '97 for second-place on Quinnipiac's all-time hits list with 190 for her career. The Bobcats now drop to 15-29 (8-6 NEC) while Bryant improves to 20-20 (9-9 NEC).

Jordan Paolucci Walks-Off with Grand Slam in Eighth Inning to Salvage Split in Doubleheader With Fairleigh Dickinson
Fairleigh Dickinson learned the hard way what could happen if they loaded the bases intentionally with sophomore Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) coming to the plate as she crushed a walk-off grand slam in the eighth to help the Quinnipiac softball team salvage a split against Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-1 loss in game one and 4-0 win in game two. It was the Bobcats' second walk-off grand slam in two weeks as Alex Alba also went deep to for Quinnipiac in a win over Mount St. Mary's. Quinnipiac continues to hold onto the fourth spot in the NEC standings as they now stand 15-27 (8-4 NEC) while the Knights are now 18-17 (7-7 NEC).

Alex Alba Matches Quinnipiac's All-Time Doubles Leader; Softball Falls Twice at Harvard
Senior shortstop Alex Alba (Sylmar, Calif.) roped two doubles in two games at Harvard to match the Quinnipiac softball all-time record but the team fell twice to the Crimson, 9-4 and 11-6 in five innings due to darkness. Alba's two doubles give her 11 for the season and 43 for her career as she now shares the program’s top-spot with Sarah Collins ’06. Quinnipiac drops to 14-26 on the season while Harvard's record improves to 18-17.

Softball's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven After 5-2 Loss to Fairfield
After reeling off seven straight wins in a little over a week, the Quinnipiac softball team couldn’t make it eight as Fairfield downed the Bobcats, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon from QU Softball Field. The loss drops Quinnipiac to 14-24 on the season while the Bobcats’ future MAAC foe Fairfield improves to 20-15.

Clutch Hitting Once Again Lifts Softball to Sweep of Sacred Heart; Push Winning Streak to Seven Games
The Quinnipiac softball team continued their magical run as they pushed their winning streak to seven games with a pair of victories over Sacred Heart, 6-0 and 4-3, on Sunday from Pioneer Park. The Bobcats were on the ropes once again, down 3-0 heading into the sixth in game two, but two runs in each of the closing innings pushed them ahead for their fourth come-from-behind victory during the seven-game winning streak. Quinnipiac improves their record to 14-23 while their NEC mark moves to 7-3, good for fourth place in the conference standings.

Softball Strong Down the Stretch, Sweeps NEC Road Doubleheader Against Wagner
The Bobcats were outscored by a combined score of 8-4 throughout the first five innings of both games but the Quinnipiac softball team willed their way to a pair of clutch victories over Wagner, 6-4 and 6-5, to earn the Saturday sweep at Wagner Field. Quinnipiac stormed all the way back from 4-0 down in the first game and also pulled out the deciding hit of game two in the sixth inning with the score tied, 4-4. With the two victories, Quinnipiac improves to 12-23 but more importantly move their conference record to 5-3 which currently sits in fourth place in the NEC standings.

Underclassmen Duo Leads Softball Down the Stretch in 6-4 Win at Fairfield
The Quinnipiac softball team continued their stellar play down the stretch as their winning streak increased to three games after a 6-4 win over Fairfield from the Alumni Softball Field on Wednesday. With the score tied 4-4 heading into the seventh, freshman Dani Edmands (Northborough, Mass.) knocked a go-ahead RBI single and sophomore pitcher Hannah Lindsley (Narragansett, R.I.) shook off the nerves and retired the final two Stag batters after runners reached second and third with one out. The Bobcats now move to 10-23 as their winning streak reaches a season-high while Fairfield falls to 15-15 on the season.

Late Inning Magic Lifts Softball to Sweep of Mount St. Mary's in Sunday Doubleheader
Needing a pair of victories to stay in the NEC playoff race, the Quinnipiac softball team earned two decisive victories on the backs of some late-game heroics as they beat Mount St. Maryââ¬â¢s 13-5 in six innings and 7-4 on Sunday from QU Softball Field. Senior Alex Alba (Sylmar, Calif.) lifted a walk-off grand slam over the left field fence in the sixth inning of game one while three runs in the bottom of the sixth broke a 4-4 tie and carried the Bobcats to the victory in game two. Quinnipiac now jumps back to the .500 mark in NEC play at 3-3 with an overall record of 9-23 while the Mountaineers fall to 10-22 (2-8 NEC).

Softball Drops Both Games in NEC Doubleheader Against LIU Brooklyn
In what amounts to a game of inches, the Quinnipiac softball team didn't get the bounces to go their way on Saturday as they fell 4-2 and 9-7 in a two-game set against LIU Brooklyn from QU Softball Field. With two runners on in the bottom of the seventh with two out, sophomore Nikki Barba (San Diego, Calif.) smashed a pitch that went all the way to the left field wall but was gloved for the final out just a couple feet away from walking away with the walk-off shot in game two. Quinnipiac̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s two losses move them to 7-23 (1-3 NEC) on the season while the Blackbirds improve to 7-29 (3-3 NEC).

Quinnipiac Softball Swept in Doubleheader Against Stony Brook
The Bobcat offense managed only nine hits in two games against Stony Brook as the Seawolvesâ pitching staff shut down the Quinnipiac softball offense on Thursday from University Field as they won 5-4 and 6-0 in a non-conference doubleheader. Sophomore Nikki Barba (San Diego, Calif.) was the only Bobcat to record a hit in both games as the second baseman now is riding a seven-game hitting streak. Quinnipiac drops to 7-21 on the season while Stony Brook improves to 19-15.

It was a tale of two stories in recap of Friday’s games for the Quinnipiac softball team as the Bobcats dominated both sides of the ball in Game One against Monmouth in a 8-1 victory but struggled on the defensive end in Game Two as the Hawks won, 3-0. Senior Alex Alba (Sylmar, Calif.) tallied two hits in the first game and doubled in game two as her three hits on the afternoon helped up her hitting streak to a season-high 10 games. Quinnipiac’s record improves to 7-19 (1-1 NEC) on the season while Monmouth moves to 13-10 (4-2 NEC) after the decisions.

Clutch Pitching the Difference in Softball's 4-3 Victory Over UConn; Alex Alba's Hit Streak Up to Eight Games
Strong offense and clutch pitching was the recipe for success for the Quinnipiac softball team on Wednesday afternoon as they took down UConn, 4-3, from Burrill Family Field. The Bobcats totaled 12 hits on the day while the pitching effort of freshman Sydney Robey (Glenmoore, Pa.) and sophomore Hannah Lindsley (Narragansett, R.I.) helped strand the game-tying run at third with just one out in the bottom of the seventh. The victory snaps the Bobcat’s three-game losing streak as they improve to 6-18 while the Huskies fall to 12-11 on the season.

The Quinnipiac University softball team dropped its home-opener against the University of Connecticut on Tuesday afternoon, as the Bobcats fell short by a final count of 6-1 at the QU Softball Field on Mount Carmel Campus. Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) led the Bobcats’ offense with a pair of hits on the day; but, as a team, Quinnipiac only mustered a total of four hits in the game.

Alex Alba and Courtney Solt Help Rewrite the Record Books as Bobcats Honored With NEC Weekly Awards
Quinnipiac softball’s senior shortstop Alex Alba (Sylmar, Calif.) and freshman outfielder Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) were announced as the Northeast Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. This announcement by the league office marks the first time the Bobcats have seized both weekly awards since March 3, 2008 and just the second time in program history.

Bobcat Offense Keeps Rolling Despite 12-5 Loss to Cornell in Last Game at City of Clearwater Spring Invitational
The Quinnipiac softball team banged out 12 more hits on Sunday against Cornell but left 10 on-base as the Big Red defeated the Bobcats, 12-5, on Sunday from the Eddie C. Moore Complex. Just one day removed from matching a program record with 16 runs against Colgate, the 12 hits on Sunday represents the fourth time the team has totaled at least 10 hits in a game over their past six contests. Quinnipiac drops to 5-17 on the season while the Big Red improve to 5-6.

Softball Splits Doubleheader; Bobcats Score Program Record 12 Runs in the Third Inning to Beat Colgate, 16-7
The Quinnipiac softball team split their doubleheader at the City of Clearwater Spring Invitational but did so in spectacular fashion. The Bobcats tied a program record with 16 runs to beat Colgate, 16-7, in five innings including a program record 12 runs in the third inning alone. Sophomore Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) banged her second grand slam in the past week to highlight the victory while every Quinnipiac starter finished with at least one base hit. Quinnipiac fell in the second game of the doubleheader to Dartmouth, 3-0, as the Bobcats’ record moves to 5-16 on the season.

Freshman Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) continues her torrid stretch despite the defeats as she went 3-for-7 on the afternoon with three runs scores as she extended her hitting streak to six games in the process. Quinnipiac drops to 4-15 on the season while Maine’s 22-game losing streak came to an end as the Black Bears improve to 2-22 and Radford moves to 4-13.

Softball Finshes Spring Break Schedule With Five Games at City of Clearwater Spring Invitational This Weekend
The Bobcats appear to be hitting their stride entering the final weekend series of their spring break down in Fla. Winners of two of their last three games, the Quinnipiac softball team comes in with a 4-13 overall record but have played extremely well of late. They are coming off a pair of non-conference wins over Maine and UT-Chattanooga sandwiched between a gritty 7-4 loss to national power South Florida. Quinnipiac looks to carry the momentum into the City of Clearwater Spring Invitational where it will play five games against Maine, Radford, Colgate, Dartmouth and Cornell before heading home on Sunday.

Bobcats Outslug UT-Chattanooga as Softball Scores Season-High 11 Runs in 11-8 Victory
Wednesday’s match was quite an offensive showcase as the Quinnipiac softball team and UT-Chattanooga combined for 25 hits and 19 runs but the Bobcats finished ahead on the scoreboard, 11-8, from the Eddie C. Moore Complex. Quinnipiac totaled a season-high 14 hits as a team to go along with 11 runs which is their most in any game this season. Seven runs in the sixth, all with two outs, proved to be the different for the Bobcats in the victory. Winners of two of their last three games, Quinnipiac improves to 4-13 while the Mocs drop to 14-11 on the season.

The Quinnipiac softball team snapped an eight-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 6-5 win over Maine and followed with a strong showing against national powerhouse South Florida in a 7-4 loss from USF Softball Field. Freshman Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) tallied five hits throughout the doubleheader while sophomore Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) slugged her first career grand slam against the Bulls in the nightcap. Quinnipiac splits on Tuesday as their record improves to 3-13 while Maine drops their 19th straight game to move to 1-19 while USF improves to 15-10 on the season.

The Quinnipiac softball team suffered a 7-6 loss to St. Joseph’s on Saturday before a pair of five inning defeats to Central Michigan, 9-1, and Southern Illinois (Edwardsville), 12-2, on Sunday to wrap up their five-game set at the USF Under Armour Showcase at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. The Bobcats drop to 2-12 on the season after their weekend set.

The Quinnipiac softball team fell in both games on Friday as they opened up the USF Under Armour Showcase with a 7-3 loss to Boston University in the afternoon and also fell 9-0 to Temple from the Eddie C. Moore Complex. With the two losses the Bobcats fall to 2-9 on the season while Boston University moved to 4-7 and Temple improved to 3-7 on the season.

Quinnipiac softball freshman outfielder Courtney Solt (Boyertown, Pa.) was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, March 4. The honor is the first for any Bobcat since Jordan Paolucci claimed her second such award on May 2, 2011.

Moore Complex at the USF Under Armour Invitational on Sunday morning. The Bobcats finish up their five-game weekend series down in Fla. with a 2-7 overall record while the Flash improve to 5-8 on the season.

Softball Swept in Doubleheader at USF Under Armour Invitational
The Bobcats were locked in a battle all afternoon with Providence and Loyola Marymount but ultimately couldn’t hold off both teams as Quinnipiac fell, 5-2, in nine innings to Providence and then lost, 5-4, to Loyola Marymount in the nightcap from Eddie C. Moore Complex. Junior pitcher Katie Alifere (Beacon Falls, Conn.) put forth a valiant effort on the mound against Providence, throwing all nine innings and staving off several Friar scoring chances before the decision was final. Sophomore Nikki Barba (San Deigo, Calif.) homered against Loyola Marymount but Quinnipiac again couldn’t push that last run across to send the game into extra innings. The sweep drops the Bobcats to 2-6 on the season while Providence improves to 3-5 and the Lions move to 6-8.

Hannah Lindsley Picks Up Second Straight Victory; Softball Splits Doubleheader at USF Under Armour Invitational
The Quinnipiac softball team split a pair of 7-3 decisions on Friday from the USF Under Armour Invitational as the Bobcats lost ,7-3, to Loyola Chicago in the first game and defeated Illinois-Chicago, 7-3, in the nightcap of the doubleheader from the Eddie C. Moore Complex. Sophomore pitcher Hannah Lindsley (Narragansett, R.I.) picked up her second straight complete game victory while sophomore second baseman Nikki Barba (San Diego, Calif.) extended her streak to 12 straight games reaching base safely dating back to last season. With the split, the Bobcats are now 2-4 to start the season.

Softball Travels Down to Florida for Five Games in USF Under Armour Invitational This Weekend
The Quinnipiac softball team will head down to Clearwater, Fla. to take part in the USF Under Armour Invitational where the Bobcats will play a five-game set from March 1-3. The team is coming off a 1-3 weekend while playing at the UNCG Spartan Classic and will now look to push their way over the .500 mark against some competition from all across the country. Games loom against the Horizon League’s Loyola Chicago and Illinois-Chicago on Friday. Then they will play the BIG EAST’s Providence Friars as well as Loyola Marymount on Saturday before the team’s final game against Kent St. on Sunday. All games will be played at the Eddie C. Moore Complex located in Clearwater.

Hannah Lindsley Twirls One-Hitter; Softball Splits Doubleheader at UNCG Spartan Classic
The Bobcats combined some stellar pitching with clutch hitting down the stretch to help win a 1-0 matchup against Drexel on Sunday from the UNCG Spartan Classic. Sophomore pitcher Hannah Lindsley (Narragansett, R.I.) tossed a complete game one-hitter in just her second career start to pick up the first victory of her career. Quinnipiac fell to the host UNCG in the second game of the doubleheader, 9-1 in five innings, to leave Greensboro with a 1-3 record in four games at the tournament.

Quinnipiac Softball Slugs Back-to-Back-to-Back Home Runs; Drops Season Opener Doubleheader at UNCG Spartan Classic
The Quinnipiac softball team went back-to-back-to-back in the second game of their season-opening doubleheader on Saturday at the UNC Greensboro Spartan Classic but were swept by Marshall and host UNCG on the afternoon. The Bobcats began the day with a 6-1 loss to Marshall and then finished off the afternoon falling to the host Spartans, 10-8, in a game that featured three straight home runs for Quinnipiac (0-2).

All Four Weekend Quinnipiac Softball Games at Lancer Lead-Off Classic Cancelled
The Quinnipiac softball team just announced their four weekend matchups playing at the Lancer Lead-Off Classic in Farmville, Va. has been cancelled due to snow. The Bobcats were slated to play the LaSalle Explorers and host Longwood Lancers twice from Saturday through Sunday but the Lancer Field is already under a couple inches of snow as of Saturday morning.

Softball Chosen to Finish Sixth in Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac softball team was chosen to finish sixth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. The Bobcats finished second in last year’s standings, appeared in their third straight NEC postseason tournament and advanced to the NEC Championship for the second straight season.

Softball Announces 2013 Regular Season Schedule
The Quinnipiac softball team is slated for 58 games in the 2013 regular season schedule. The spring slate includes a showcase showdown against South Florida who advanced to the 2012 NCAA Women’s College World Series as well as Harvard and the Northeast Conference’s LIU Brooklyn who both advanced to the 2012 NCAA Softball Tournament Regional Round.

Three Softball Student-Athletes Named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Academic All-Americans
Three student-athletes from the Quinnipiac softball team were recently named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Academic All-Americans for their performance in the classroom during the 2011-12 academic year. The distinguished athletes include former standouts Heather Schwartzburg and Ashley Heiberger as well as current sophomore catcher Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.). Recipients of this award earned a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA over both semesters last year.

Quinnipiac softball head coach Germaine Fairchild and her staff announced the signing of two players to National Letters of Intent who will join the Bobcats in the fall of 2013. Shortstop Madison Kelly (Whitehall, Pa.) and utility player Julia McGovern (Levittown, Pa.) will help make up part of the Quinnipiac softball Class of 2017. Both players add quality leadership skills with proven success on and off the field.

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Due to inclement weather, the remainder of the 2011 Northeast Conference Softball Tournament has been cancelled. The Championship game between the No. 3 seed Quinnipiac and second-seeded Sacred Heart has been cancelled after it was suspended in the fourth inning yesterday due to poor weather conditions and darkness. Sacred Heart is declared the 2011 NEC Champion and earns a NCAA Tournament bid based on its 2-0 tournament record. The Bobcats end their season at 32-26 overall. Additionally, freshman Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) and junior Mina Duffy (Piedmont, Calif.) were named to the 2011 All-Tournament team.

Schwartzburg's single-season strikeout total is also a Northeast Conference single-season record. The Bobcats' win pushes their record to 30-24, giving Quinnipiac its second 30-win season in the program's Division I history and fourth all-time. Fairfield drops to 26-19 overall.

Schwartzburg Breaks Program Strikeout Record As Softball Sweeps Saint Francis (Pa.) In NEC Doubleheader
Indiana, Pa. - Junior right-handed pitcher Heather Schwartzburg (Mission Viejo, Calif.) broke the Quinnipiac University softball season-strikeout record as she fanned six batters in a Northeast Conference doubleheader against Saint Francis (Pa.). Schwartzburg struck out 15 batters on the day to increase her season total to 265 strikeouts, which breaks the record she set last season when she posted 255 strikeouts as a sophomore. The Bobcats won the first outing of the twinbill, 2-0, and recorded an 11-3 victory in five innings of play in game two. Quinnipiac improves to 29-24 on the year and with a 13-7 mark in conference play, while the Red Flash drop to 10-34 overall and to 2-12 in the NEC.

The Quinnipiac University softball team swept Northeast Conference opponent Monmouth in a doubleheader on Sunday, April 3
