College Sports Madness Names Duffy NEC Player Of The Week
HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Mina Duffy (Piedmont, Calif.) of the Quinnipiac University softball team was recently named College Sports Madness Northeast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the college athletics website on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Duffy receives her first recognition of the 2012 campaign after leading the Bobcats to an undefeated 4-0 mark in non-conference play in Quinnipiac’s opening weekend at the Longwood Spring Classic on Feb. 25-26. Duffy started as the designated hitter in each contest and paced the team with 10 RBI as she went 6-for-11. The California native batted .545 and also scored five runs as she hit three homeruns on the weekend.
The Bobcats return to action return to action when they compete at the University of South Florida Tournament on March 2-4. Quinnipiac opens the tournament with a match-up against Florida Gulf Coast at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 2.
