Quinnipiac Softball Names Joelle Jacobsen 2010-11 Captain
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University softball head coach Germaine
Fairchild announced senior Joelle
Jacobsen (Flemington, N.J.) as captain for the upcoming 2011
season.
"Joelle has spent her first three years as a Quinnipiac Softball
student-athlete demonstrating to her teammates what it takes to be
successful, both on and off of the field," said Quinnipiac Head
Coach Germaine
Fairchild. "Her excellence in the classroom, extracurricular
involvement in the Campus community, and her consistent work ethic
at improving as an athlete combine to make her an unparalleled
leader and representative of our program, department, and
University."
Jacobsen saw action in 36 games for the Bobcats last season,
starting in 23 contests at second base. In her junior year,
Jacobson earned a .945 fielding percentage and was fourth on the
team in put-outs (72) and assists (31). She also contributed six
runs and five hits in 2009, while posting a .200 batting average.
