Mina Duffy (Piedmont, Calif.), Joelle Jacobsen (Flemington, N.J.), Angela Casella (Oceanside, N.Y.), Kelly Wall (Westport, Conn.), Katie Allendorfer (Glenside, Pa.), Emily Bellush (Newton, Mass.), Heather Maffeo (Milton, Mass.), and Christine Bourdeau (Seymour, Conn.) were all named Division I Scholar Athletes.
"Of the many accomplishments of our softball student-athletes, academic achievements such as NFCA Scholar All-America are those we are most proud of, said Quinnipiac Head Coach Germaine Fairchild. "To have eight players recognized for a GPA over 3.5 for the academic year reflects the sincere emphasis placed on academics by both the student-athletes individually and our softball program as a whole."
Additionally, during the 2009-10 academic year, members of the Quinnipiac softball team achieved other academic accomplishments. Emily Bullush was inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi, Kelly Wall was named the top Female Scholar Athlete by the Quinnipiac Department of Athletics and Recreation, and Joelle Jacobsen earned a Quinnipiac University "Outstanding Junior" award.
