QU Men's Cross Country Posts 6th Place Finish (Out of 8) at Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Race
It was a career day for several Bobcat competitors for the Quinnipiac men’s cross country team at the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Race on Saturday afternoon hosted by Bryant University. The group of six Bobcats, all of which were making their 2014 season debuts, led the way for Quinnipiac who placed 6th in the team standings out of eight competitors. Northeastern claimed the team victory with 24 points while the Bobcats tallied 121 points on the afternoon.

Men's Cross Country Opens 2014 Season With 3rd Place Finish at Stony Brook Invitational
The Quinnipiac men's cross country team kicked off their 2014 campaign with a 3rd place finish at the Stony Brook Invitational. The Bobcats (68 points) were paced by five runners who placed in the Top 22 finishers overall, including a career-best finish for junior Matt Mensher (Tolland, Conn.). The host Seawolves claimed first place with 19 points while Quinnipiac’s MAAC rival Fairfield barley outkicked the Bobcats with 66 points.

The Quinnipiac men's cross country team was chosen to finish seventh in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The Bobcats return eight student-athletes from the 2013 squad, including the four top runners for Quinnipiac throughout last season.

Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald has announced all-time highs in several academic areas for the 2013-14 season. Quinnipiac’s 414 student-athletes posted a program best 3.293 cumulative grade-point-average, while all but one of Quinnipiac’s 21 varsity teams posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Men's Cross Country Finishes 2013 Season with 29th Place Finish (out of 37 teams) at NCAA Northeast Regional
The Quinnipiac men's cross country team wrapped up their 2013 season with a 29th place finish, out of 37 teams, at the NCAA Northeast Regional event from Van Cortlandt Park. The Bobcats' All-MAAC performer in sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) closed out his breakout season with a Top 100 finish to lead the way once again for Quinnipiac. The NCAA Regional event was won by Syracuse with 57 points while the Bobcats tallied 923, third-most among six MAAC competitors.

Men's Cross Country Names Six to MAAC All-Academic Team
A total of six members of the Quinnipiac men's cross country team were named to the 2013 MAAC Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team on Nov. 1, 2013. Quinnipiac’s was tied for fifth in the conference but on a percentage-based number, the Bobcats had the highest percentage of players on the team make the All-Academic Team among all eligible institutions.

Brendan Copley Earns All-MAAC Honor to Spearhead Men's Cross Country's 7th Place Finish at MAAC Championship
Racing against one of the premier cross country programs in the nation, the Quinnipiac men's cross country team managed to score some impressive individual results on their way to a 7th place finish at the MAAC Championship on Friday. Sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) powered through the 8k course at Van Cortlandt Park to pick up a 10th place finish and All-MAAC honor to lead the way for the Bobcats. The No. 8 nationally-ranked Iona Gaels won their 23rd straight MAAC title as they finished with a mere 15 points, 58 more than the second place finisher Canisius.

Jacob Cetera and Ryan Wolff Honored for Senior Day; Men's Cross Country Places 7th (out of 15) at CCSU Mini Meet
In a day filled with pre and post-race festivities, the Quinnipiac men's cross country team put together a strong day of running with a 7th place result at the CCSU Mini Meet. Seniors Jacob Cetera (Chicago, Ill.) and Ryan Wolff (Mount Holly, N.J.) were honored in the Bobcats' Senior Day mementoes before the start of Friday’s race for all their contributions to the program in their respective careers. Quinnipiac finished the meet with 204 points including a Top-5 finish from sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) while Providence (65 points) won the meet.

Quinnipiac men's cross country sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) earned his second MAAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award of the season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Copley’s second Runner of the Week honor places him in a tie with Manhattan’s Mikael Rojeras for the most of any MAAC athlete this season.

Men's Cross Country Tallies 20th Place Result at New England Championships, Brendan Copley (20th) Paces Bobcats' Effort
Quinnipiac men's cross country sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) continues his strong running this season to lead the Bobcats to a 20th place result out of 41 teams on Saturday. The team's finishing positions is a three-spot improvement for the Bobcats from their 2012 New England Championship result as the team is starting to round into form in preparation for the MAAC Championship in two weeks. The Bobcats tallied 530 points as a team to finish in 20th place while former NEC challenger, Central Connecticut State, took first place with 74 points.

Men's Cross Country Posts 11th Place Result (out of 46 teams) in the Paul Short Men's Brown 8k Run
The Quinnipiac men's cross country team was on their game Saturday from Lehigh University in the Paul Short Invitational, as they combined for an 11th place result out of 46 teams in competition. The Bobcats were lifted once again by their dynamic duo of sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) and junior Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) as they navigated their way through a crowded mass of 372 runners to both post Top-20 finishes. Quinnipiac's 11th place finish and 399 points marks an improvement from their 12th place showing in the 2012 Paul Short Invitational. Princeton took down the title with 94 total points.

Men's Cross Country Posts 16th Place Finish (out of 20) at Iona Meet of Champions
The Quinnipiac men's cross country team was lifted by sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) but the Bobcats couldn’t get much footing at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday as they placed 16th out of 20 teams in the Iona Meet of Champions. No. 13 nationally-ranked Iona took the crown in their home meet with a first place finish in dominating fashion, finishing with 37 points, 60 points ahead of second place Yale (97 points). The Bobcats finished with 454 points amongst a crowded field of 210 competitors.

There couldn't have been a better way to start the 2013 season for the members of the Quinnipiac men's cross country team as they raced out to a second place finish in the Stony Brook Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) and junior Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) became the first Bobcat teammates to ever finish as the first and second place finishers in the same event. The Bobcats finished with 44 points, just eight behind the host Stony Brook who claimed the team victory.

Several Bobcats Impress, Lead Men's Cross Country to 23rd Place at NCAA Northeast Regional
Coming off an impressive 3rd place showing at the NEC Championship, the Quinnipiac men's cross country team finished their stellar season with a 23rd place result at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Hammonassett Park. Senior Rich Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) capped his outstanding career with another strong showing, placing 40th out of 239 runners at the 10k event to lead Quinnipiac. Iona had all five of their runners finish in the top-20 to win the event with 45 points.

Men's Cross Country Finishes a Mere Seven Points Out of First, Takes 3rd at NEC Championship
The Quinnipiac men's cross country team nearly came away with their first Northeast Conference Championship since 2008 on Saturday, finishing 3rd in the pressure-packed event. Senior Rich Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) and freshman Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.) gave Quinnipiac their first All-Conference honorees since the 2009 season when Klauber was joined by two other Bobcats in an event where they finished the runners-up. The Bobcats (79 points) nearly came away with the title as they finished a mere seven points behind first-place Central Connecticut State (72 points) who claims their fourth consecutive NEC Championship.

The traditionally dominant Quinnipiac men's cross country team looks to regain its championship form after finishing sixth at the 2011 Northeast Conference Championship. The Quinnipiac men's cross country team, backed by freshman sensation Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.), placed 20th (out of 212 competitors) at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday. The two-time Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, Copley has finished either first or second among Bobcat runners in all four races he has competed this season. The Bobcats finished with 544 points while the winner of the Princeton Invitational is St. Joseph’s (Pa.) with 46 points.

Senior Rich Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) of the Quinnipiac men's cross country team was named the Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Oct. 9. For Klauber, the Athlete of the Week honor is his third of the 2012 season, more than any other runner in the NEC. It also marked his second consecutive selection and the fifth of his career.

There was no stopping senior Rich Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) on Sunday at the New England Championships as he finished 8th overall in a race that featured a season-high 261 competitors. He led the Bobcats to a 23rd place result out of 37 collegiate teams, up 10 spots from last year’s 33rd place finish in the same event. Several Bobcats including Klauber achieved new personal-bests as the team continues to build for a successful late-season run.

The Quinnipiac men’s cross country team put forth on of their strongest efforts of the season on Friday afternoon at the Lehigh Paul Short Men’s 8k Brown Race as they placed 12th out of 33 collegiate teams. The Bobcats amassed 379 points on the afternoon while the University of Pennsylvania claimed first place with 47 points. Highlighting the Bobcat’s effort was senior Richard Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) who placed 6th overall (out of 225 runners) with a blazing time of 25:23.

Senior Mike Levene Leads Bobcats Men's Cross Country to Second Place Finish in His Final Home Meet
Senior Mike Levene (Redding, Conn.) came away with a dramatic 3rd place finish as he passed several runners in the final 100 yards to lead the Bobcats to a 2nd place finish at the Quinnipiac Invitational. Several Bobcats runners were honored beforehand as it was the final home meet for three men’s cross country seniors. NEC rival Central Conn. St. finished with 24 points to take the win while the Bobcats compiled 31 points to take second in the 8k event.

Paced by the return of senior Rich Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) and the sensational debut of freshman Brendan Copley (Colchester, Vt.), the Quinnipiac men’s cross country team placed second at the Stony Brook Invitational on Saturday. The Quinnipiac men’s cross country team placed eighth out of 14 teams at the 17th Annual Monmouth Invitational on Saturday morning. East Stroudsburg University won the 8k course with 63 points, while Quinnipiac finished with 178 points in total. The Bobcats were led by freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.), who placed sixth overall.

The Quinnipiac men’s cross country team placed 10th out of 16 teams at the annual Fordham Fiasco on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Bobcats finished with a total of 286 points, while Princeton won the 8k course with 26 points. Freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) was Quinnipiac’s top finisher, placing 50th overall in 27:05.32.

Men's Cross Country Takes Second Place At Stony Brook Season Opener
The Quinnipiac men’s cross country team competed at the Stony Brook Season Opener on Saturday morning. Freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) led the Bobcats as he placed fourth with a time of 19:33 in his first collegiate meet. Overall, the host took first place with 18 points, while Quinnipiac finished in second place with 50 points and CW Post came in third with 66 points.

Men's Cross Country Finishes 35th At New England Championships
The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team continued the 2010 season on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the 98th New England Collegiate Cross Country Championships held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The Bobcats competed in both the Varsity and Sub Varsity races, finishing in 35th place in the Varsity meet. The men's varsity event was host to 47 colleges from the New England Region and was won by Dartmouth College.

Men's Cross Country Runs At Paul Short Invitational
The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team ran at the Paul Short Invitational held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, Oct. 1. The 37th Annual Invitational had over 5,000 runners from 230 colleges and high schools scheduled to compete in races throughout the day. The Bobcats finished in 33rd place out of 40 teams in the Men's College Brown 8K Race. Sophomore Mike Levene (Redding, Conn.) finished in 37th place overall and was Quinnipiac's top finisher with a time of 26:15.

Men's Cross Country Places Second At Invitational
The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team placed second at the Quinnipiac University Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18. The Bobcats finished the race with a total of 37 points. In first place was Stonehill College with 20 points. Yale University placed four runners in the top 10, however they could not place as a team since they competed with only four runners. Leading the Bobcats was sophomore Mike Levene (Redding, Conn.), finishing the 8K course in fifth place overall with a time of 27:16.

The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team finished sixth out of nine teams at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Stanley Quarter Park. Providence College won the invitational on both the men and women's side. The Bobcats finished with a total of 184 points and placed ahead of Northeast Conference opponent Bryant.

Men's Cross Country Picked To Finish Fourth In NEC Preseason Poll
The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team was tabbed to finish fourth out of 12 teams in the 2010 Northeast Conference Coaches Preseason Poll. The Bobcats saw their three-year reign as conference champions end last year when in-state rival Central Connecticut State won the championship. Sophomore Mike Levene (Redding, Conn.) will look to lead Quinnipiac in 2010.
