HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men’s cross country freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) won his third Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week honor, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Mannion picks up his third NEC weekly accolade after pacing the Bobcats at the New England (NEICAAA) Championships in the varsity 8k race on Saturday, Oct. 8. The freshman was Quinnipiac’s top runner for the fourth time this year, as he placed 68^th overall in 26:08.

Quinnipiac finished 33^rd out of 43 teams at the meet with a total of  823 points, while the University of Connecticut won with 149 points.

The Bobcats return to action when they compete at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet on Oct. 29 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn. Additionally, Quinnipiac will honor its seniors at the meet.
