BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Quinnipiac men’s cross country team finished in 32nd place out of 46 teams at the 38th Annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Friday afternoon. The Bobcats finished the Brown 8k Race with a total of 761 points, while Iona College won the meet with 125 points. Junior Richard Stoliker (Shelton, Conn.) was Quinnipiac’s top finisher, placing 58th in 26:39.
“On the men’s side, it was definitely a tougher day since we had a few people out,” said head coach Carolyn Martin. “Despite not having our full team, it was great to see a couple of the guys step up. Overall, I was pleased with a lot of their performances.”
Freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) placed second for the Bobcats in 89th place overall with a time of 26:56. Senior John Healy (Middletown, N.J.) followed in 115th place in 27:07, while junior Jacob Cetera (Chicago, Ill.) ran the 8k course in 28:19. Freshman Josh Wells (Shelton, Conn.) crossed the finish line in 28:33.
Junior Edgar Carrasco (Durham, Conn.) and senior Dave Coppola (Reading, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Quinnipiac with times of 29:10 and 30:53, respectively.
The Bobcats return to action when they compete at the New England Championships on Oct. 8 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
