HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team was named one of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams of 2009. The Bobcats posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.18 this past season to earn the distinction. Quinnipiac was one of four teams from the Northeast Conference to make the list of 135 teams nationally, joining, Wagner, Sacred Heart and Monmouth.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
Oklahoma State was named the 2009 Scholar Team of the Year after winning the program's first National Championship since 1954 as well as NCAA Midwest Region title and their second straight Big 12 conference crown this past fall. The Scholar Team of the Year distinction goes to the program that earned All-Academic Team honors and placed the highest among the field at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
