BOSTON The Quinnipiac University men's indoor track team finished the second day of competition at the New England Championships at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center with two races. John Beckshaw (Medford, Mass.) ran in the Bobcats' only individual race of the day, competing in the 3000 meters. Jack McDonald (Cheshire, Conn.), Steve Pilch (Medford Lakes, N.J.), Chris Foster (Mystic, Conn.) and Sean Ramsey (Southbury, Conn.) comprised Quinnipiac's 4x800-meter relay team that posted a season best time by more than 21 seconds.
Beckshaw finished out of the scoring with a time of 9:09.70 in the 3000-meter race. The relay team's time of 7:53.83 bested the previous season high of 8:14. Ramsey broke the two-minute split time mark for the first time in his career, running his leg in 1:56.
"This was an incredibly exciting race to end the meet with," said Head Coach Shawn Green. "All four runners raised their own personal bar today and hopefully this can be a confidence boost heading into the IC4A's."
Quinnipiac will return to Boston University next weekend for another two-day meet when it competes in the IC4A Championships at the Track and Tennis Center. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start time.
