Richard Klauber Named NEC Men's Cross Country Rookie Of The Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University men's cross country freshman Richard Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) was named the Northeast Conference Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week the conference office today announced. This is the third time this season Klauber has received Rookie of the Week honors. He was named the Male Athlete of the Week this season after finishing first at the Monmouth Invitational in September.

Klauber was the first Quinnipiac runner to cross the line at the New England Championships in Boston, Mass., on Saturday. His time of 25:15 was a Quinnipiac freshman record on the Franklin Park course as he finished 21st overall in a field of over 300 runners and was the second NEC runner to cross the line. His time helped the Bobcats to an 11th-place team finish out of 47 teams.

Quinnipiac runs again on Friday, Oct. 17, as they compete in the Penn State Invitational in State College, Pa. The race is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
