Men’s Tennis Falls Just Short to Valpo in Non-Conference Match-up, 4-3
ORLANDO, Fla. – Fahoum Fahoum (Haifa, Israel), Garrett Lane (Reading, Mass.) and Corey Morgenstern (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) each defeated their opponent in singles on Monday night, but the Quinnipiac University men's tennis team couldn't find another point in a 4-3 loss to Valparaiso in Orlando, Fla.
The doubles matches were close as the No. 1 team of Fahoum and Luke Roser (Bernardsville, N.J.) lost their match by a final score of 8-7 (6). The No. 2 doubles team of Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) and Alex Lazerowich (Stratham, N.H.) were defeated 8-2 at No. 2 while the No. 3 doubles' partners John Petrini (Stamford, Conn.) and Alain Grullon (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) fell short, 8-5.
Singles play featured a better match with each team taking three points. Fahoum extended his winning streak to four straight after rallying back from an early deficit (2-6) and winning the final two sets, 6-4 and 6-4, at No. 2. Lane picked up another win at No. 5 by defeating Lucas Waak, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3; and Morgenstern earned the third Bobcats' point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Brian Hickey at No. 6. However, with the split, the doubles point determined the outcome and left the Crusaders with a neutral site victory.

With the loss, Quinnipiac fell to 3-6 on the year. The Bobcats will enjoy two days off before their next match which will take place on Thursday, March 14. QU will take on South Carolina at Lake Cane in Orlando.
The Crusaders improved to 7-5 overall and will take on Marian (Ind.) on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
